Lunch on a Sunday afternoon after visiting the Fortress. Pleasant welcome, we were placed at the table in front of the fireplace, which is a real plus. The place is very charming and warm. The starter/main course/dessert menu remains affordable (35€) and the dishes are distinguished and original. The start of the service is a little long, and very/too discreet.
We still recommend this restaurant and will not hesitate to come back.

A restaurant with beautiful design and staff with little care.
We had lunch in a very intimate little alcove.
The lunch menu at 26 € is composed of good dishes with an extra glass of wine and coffee.
We took this one at 49€ with more refined dishes like sweetbreads cooked to perfection.

A discovery for us of this new setting with more space. Perfect welcome from the housewife, unfortunately that evening (on a Saturday) large family tables that quickly became very noisy which disturbed our evening but largely compensated by the presentation and quality of the dishes of the dessert starter despite a little overcooked turbot. Beautiful wine list with pleasant service the sommelier being very careful not to let us die of thirst. Little remark about a friendly and attentive young waiter but due to lack of profession I suppose we have repeatedly emerged a traditional "it has been" which is only a small detail.

We were a cycling tour comprising six in total and our experienced guide had booked this restaurant promising us a very good meal and certainly he and the restaurant did not disappoint! The restaurant was full on a Sunday night(always a good sign) but the service was very good. From the fixed price menu I had the foie gras starter which was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful followed by turbot with broad beans and peas which again I could not fault. Wines very good as was the service. Warmly recommended.

We had booked well in advance and were looking forward to it. We were received by a friendly young girl and offered a table outside but there was too much sun so we moved indoors. We sat on the ground floor and chose the lunch menu with 2 courses as we could not eat more. It fit nicely and we were plenty full. The food was nice and well prepared, but otherwise we have had better service at other similar restaurants. The lady who served us found it very difficult to communicate about drinks or to be interested, you didn't want wine and the selection was incredibly small. We waited about 50 min. On the main course and also very long on the dessert. The coffee was made on a Nespresso machine which doesn't quite match the picture on Michelin and the milk was ice cold - so was the coffee too!
The toilet is only on the 1st floor, so it is not a place for people with walking difficulties.

Try the lunch formula, main course or dessert dish, with appetizer, glass of wine (good level China) and coffee for 25€. It was during a visit to Chinon that we discovered this restaurant.
The welcome is very friendly and professional.
We take a menu for €25.00, starter and main course. We were pleasantly surprised to see two delicious appetizers arrive to begin with.
The salmon smoked by them and very tasty. The cod and small spring vegetables that accompany it are simply magnificent. The impeccable and friendly service, as we had reported a gluten intolerance.
We had a very pleasant time.

In a historic Chinon setting, warm welcome, attentive and precise service. Pleasure, tasty cuisine based on quality products, surprising but successful combinations (the succulent chocolate mousse and its accompaniment, the place and its orange butter blanc), the poultry with morel sauce was also excellent. The bubbles from Couly-Dutheil that we didn't know accompanied the dishes very well.
A very beautiful traditional house, but also creative.
Our Shetland Shepherd was very well received.

Great meal in a lovely courtyard setting. Staff were very pleasant. The only downside was they seemed to be a bit short-staffed as dinner took 3.5 hours. A bit slow to start and at times too long between courses but I suspect this was because they have recently moved to a new location and it was a Sunday evening. It did not spoil our enjoyment of the food and the venue. Definitely the best of our three meals in Chinon

The food is top notch. dinner is a bargain for 31`E. I had the steak and the fish appetizer and our guests had various things from the menu - EVERYONE was happy. It was a party of 4 two times. The dessert is also very nice and all included in the 31E. I highly recommend you make a reservation
'we literally got the last reservation each time and it is a small restaurant. The wine was great - we had a Lambert white and red chinon wine. The food is literally the best they serve in Chinon but at a reasonable price.

Have eaten here several times over the last 10 years and always given five star reviews. Posting to say the restaurant moved to larger premises on same street 50 metres nearer the centre of Chinon. Now has large, beautiful shaded courtyard for outside dining.
Certain the same high standards and great value will apply.
Now the bad news…..our schedule doesn’t allow us to dine there this trip!🤷🏻♂️, so cannot comment on an actual dining experience. Just wanted to give the heads up to what appears to be an even better dining experience. We will return………
