The food at this restaurant was excellent. The service was good and also very good value for money. What more could one ask?

This is a small restaurant in an old building. 2 tables on the ground floor, 5 tables on the 1st floor. Nice distance between the tables. No concern that the neighbouring table was listening to your conversation. Nice staff with limited English I went for...More
We enjoyed Le Saint-Hilaire which offers fresh cooked food, and was the best out of 3 we tried in Chartres. It is small, so, better book in advance.
A simple menu with a few 'formules'. Fresh mostly seasonal and local ingredients ( there was salmon all the way from Norway which read like capitulation to tourists on a diet). Simply prepared dishes without fanfare or extravagance. Just good. Reasonably priced. Attentive service. I...More
Cannot say enough about the quality of food, presentation and service. The salmon was the best ever with seasonal leeks, sweet potato purée. Chocolat base for the dessert to die for. Happily surprised as we made lunch reservations just an hour before and the space...More
This was a perfectly nice lunch. Attentive service, handsome upstairs room. A three course lunch for two with a half bottle of burgundy came to just over €100, which seemed the right price. Not the most exciting meal of our trip, but it ticked all...More
Away from the cathedral, this restaurant is a real gem. Located in a house that dates back to the 15th century, it is charming and cozy. We had the Business lunch at 19 euros and it was delicious. We were first served some amuse-bouche, followed...More

Tiny restaurant in the heart of Chartres, it has good wine list beyond Loire wines and also good wine glasses. The food is simple but well executed with enphasis on local cuisine.
We took a table for 6 (plus our little dog - who is perfectly well behaved and was warmly welcomed by all the staff). We dined upstairs (although there are a few tables downstairs too) and the ambiance was charming & cosy. Upmarket bistro-style with...More
