Within easy walking distance of the cathedral, Tomate & Piment offers a cozy spot for lunch. Varied menu, beer/ wine and reasonable prices make this a good choice. Also easy walking distance to the train station for return trip to metro Paris.

We ate here for lunch and had a great meal. Christophe greeted us warmly and helped us through the French menu inspired by world cuisine. My wife and I shared a salad loaded with cooked vegetables, delicious. She had chicken/beef fajitas and I had crevette/saumon fajitas, delicious again. The wine list offered lots of variety. Thanks for a terrific meal... More

As we had our dog I saw that this restaurant was empty and I thought it would be nice and quiet. Within 15 minutes the place was full, bizarre . Good value wine. I ordered spare ribs and they were the most meaty I have ever had. Owner/manager was excellent.

A last minute dinner between friends, the restaurant was a discovery for them but for us our 3rd/4th visit. As usual, we were well received and the service was impeccable. The food was excellent with fresh ingredients and good portions. The staff are very friendly and efficient with a thorough knowledge of the menu and wine list. Our friends really... More

Had a very good meal here, looking out at the main square and cathedral. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and interior. Food was services swiftly and with a smile. The tarte tartin was lovely to finish off with!

Not really Dame de Chartres is in view from our outside table. The food was good but not special in this French speaking country.

After a walk around the cathedral at Chartres we were looking for somewhere to have a quick lunch, and came across the Tomate & Piment. It was warm and cosy compared to the outside temperature, and the staff made us very welcome. The decoration was interesting, being based on a travel theme with posters around the walls, and a display... More

well located between railway station, major hotels (TIM, Mercure, Grand) and cathedral. wines very good; meals good (sometimes as a vegetarian the choice is not too great); very friendly and competent and helpful staff; i come here with groups between this time 26 people and before up to 44 already for the 4th time. so something must be pretty good!

This was a very nice little restaurant. The service and the food were excellent. Great variety of French food and American standards. The beef bourguignon was excellent. Good wine choices. Very friendly atmosphere, good amount of food and selection. A true find!
