Decent pizza, good soup, attentive service and a little pricey. Great location, right by the cathedral and nicely informal. On the down side the chocolate brownie was rock hard but the panna cotta delicious. Prices probably high because of the location but competitive with other places in the square. Its thing fancy but just the job for hungry tourists.

This restaurant is well-located, as the name implies, alongside the Romanesque spire of Chartres Cathedral. We were ok paying the cover charge to enjoy a meal with this awesome view. However, when we ordered 2 pizzas to share between three people (along with wine or beer for all) the waiter objected, saying that such a small order "is not good... More

Look the location is great, even if it is the edge of the cathedrals square. The waitresses were keen and encouraged nicely. The food was a bit above average but edible and not too expensive so you could do a lot worse.

Yes . It was already 21:15 . And we wanted to grab something to eat before the spectacular lights show on the famous Cathedral , just meters across the alley from the restaurant . From the outside the atmosphere looked promising . Several tables were occupied , and the waiter asked if we had a reservation . We did not... More

Needed a bite to eat at the end of a long day. Restaurant had little choice for my 6 year old but were more than happy for him to share my wife's lasagne. Nice atmosphere, good restaurant.

Tried pizza, risotto and panacotta. The pizza was one of the worst I ever had in a restaurant. It was more of a flatbread than an italian pizza, and a badly made flatbread. The risotto was made with rice instead of risotto, edible but I wouldnt be happy if I would cook such a recipe at home, hence in an... More

La Voute Romane is a friendly restaurant with good service and reasonable prices. There is a varied menu of Italian style food. The pizzas looked good. The risottos were average with rewarmed soggy rice. The location of the restaurant in the corner of the square around the cathedral makes it a great place to eat and there are tables outside.... After our arrival in Chartres we were in need of a meal without a lot of fuss but which would be a great start to our holiday. La Voute Romane was our choice. It is a friendly restaurant, with very efficient service. There is a varied menu of Italian style food and there is no pressure to order various courses.... More

Friendly staff, quick service, ok priced. We had pizza venezia (spicy chorizo: nice!), green salad and penne napolitana. French pizzas are unlike Italian pizzas, but to French standards this was a good one. Italian red wine was good, too.

We visited this restaurant before we went to see the son et lumiere in Chatre. This place is overlooked by the cathedral so is in a prime spot.We were expecting to pay over the odds for such a great location-especially as you could also sit outside. The pizzas were all really reasonable ie 9-11 euros +were freshly made to order. My... More
