We had lunch at Au Bon Vin de Touraine Le Chalet when we visited the Chateau. The plat du Jour with two courses ,house wine and coffee was not expensive at 48 Euro for two. Service was prompt and efficient and the decor was clean and inviting. I had the Pate de Foie gras and my wife had a Pear... More

After having gone to the famous and amazing castle, this completely shattered the atmosphere and ruined my day. As the inside of this "restaurant" was so poorly lit,if lit at all, my family and I decided to dine outside. The service is appaling: I had to order three times before finally getting their cheap stale bread. Then, the starter buffet was... More

I wasn't all that impressed with Le Chalet but their one great advantage was that they stay open and will serve guests after other restaurants are closed. We ate in the outdoor section twice, simple foods like pizza and sandwiches. Service was basic. This is obviously not a tourist destination, they seem geared to local customers. That's okay, just something... More

First impressions do count. Peeling wallpaper and dirty cutlery should have warned us. I refused to eat here, my husband ordered steak and chips. It was fine when it first arrived, then as it began to cool it became congealed with fat. Not pleasant at all. Would definatley not recommend this place at all

After visiting the lovely château, we chose this restaurant because it had pizza on the menu which suited one of our children. Wasn't impressed with the plastic patio furniture which made it seem cheap, but because the restaurant was busy, I thought it would be OK. The pizza was fine, but the crepes and burgers weren't great. Fills a hole,... More

In a prominent location so probably doesn't have to struggle for trade. The food was indifferent, the service poor and the place looked grubby - never-the-less they were busy. Probably just about acceptable if you want burger and chips but don't visit for a gourmet experience.

After a long journey down, we were ready to have an enjoyable evening to start our holiday. We looked at a few of the other restaurants in the area and thought the menu here suited our needs. It was extremely busy and therefore we expected to have to wait, but what we didn't expect was the lack of general service... More

Should have read the reviews before trying this place. There is nothing positive we could say about this restaurant. The staff were indifferent and the food and service poor. The cutlery and table did not look very clean. The food orders were all mixed up and delivered at different times. We ordered pizzas for the children but got Crepes. They... More

I have been eating in France for many years and this restaurant is far from being good. It is easy to see why the location attracts dinners, being just a short walk from the Chateau. It is also close to the Hotel Biencourt, which is a great place to stay. The cold buffet is very limited in the choice that... More

This place managed to spoil what should have been a perfect day. The sun was shiningfor the first time on the holiday . We had just treated ourselves to paintings by our favourite artist. It was a special birthday. The service took so long we got up to leave, sadly we were caught at that moment. The porc plate de... More
