A nice little place in this village, found it by coincidence. Really good food but more amazing was the white wine I was offered by the waitress and it went really well with the scallops main course I had. Also finished off with cheese( locally made).

There's nothing worse than a growling stomach to match the sore feet after hours of touring the beautiful Azay-le-Rideau Chateaux. My husband and I were lucky enough to stumble upon (literally) this nice little restaurant. It was quaint and small (maybe 9 tables) and offered a menu that sounded good and was reasonably priced. We both started with a caprese-like... More

I am a great believer in Trip Advisor and appreciate people leaving reviews re what they thought of a meal, and it is clear from some reviews that some people have been less than pleased with what they got at this restaurant. My wife and I ate here without looking at any reviews and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, so were... More

This menu looked as if it would offer a traditional French meal, but the reality did not live up to our expectations. The starters were fine, as was my confit de canard (it would take a very incompetent chef to ruin that!), but my husband's beef was tough and lacking in flavour. The vegetables that were served seemed very random... More

New owners this year. Looks very plush but food doesn't match. Salad st Jacqueline starter appeared without the scollaps fois gras starter didn't appear at all. Waitress appeared distracted, and not really around to sort out problems. Kids burger very very dry, over cooked. Duck very tough, meals not great value for money. Desserts appeared to be straight from the... More

Wish we'd read the reviews first, we could have avoided this unpleasant experience. The menu suggests good value traditional French cooking but is just fancy descriptions of poor food, eg. An amateur salad with bottled dressing, gristly 'gigot' of lamb drenched in bisto-like gravy, the red carafe wine was undrinkable - not only horrid but apparently been kept in the... More

Don't be fooled by the traditional appearance of this restaurant as the food and service are mediocre. For example, we were not advised of that day's specialities, the main course vegetables were cold, the strawberries were very cold i.e. straight from the fridge. There are better restaurants in Azay-le-Rideau.

We ate here on 3 evenings in May, and on each occasion both the food and the service were good. The menu is somewhat limited, but this was made up for by the quality of the food. The owner is friendly and made us welcome on each occasion. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food is not tasty. We ate soup, fishes, and desert for 17 euro. It was really not good. The wine was bad too.

I can't thank the owners of La Ridelloise enough for staying open for our group -- and offering us a tasty meal in a lovely, chalereux environment. We were running late and would not arrive in Azay-le-Rideau until after 2 pm on a weekday, in October (definitely after tourist season). La Ridelloise was the fourth restaurant I called at 1:45,...
