Loved cooking our meat & veggies at the table on a slate rock stove. Yum! The salads are big and magnificent!

One star for the wine. Beyond that I don't know what to say. A plate of raw turkey that I was supposed to cook on a griddle. Served with salad and vegetables on the same plate? Raw? Oh, and a boiled potato. My BF had the same thing, but with duck. Zero prep. No sauce. Total rip off. Except the... More

We went here two nights in a row on our trip to Amboise! It's a great place for a light dinner, their galettes are delicious and their sweet crepes are a great finish to the meal. The staff is very friendly! It gets crowded so either make a reservation or come early (or late).

We enjoyed our evening at L'Ancree. We had passed it on several trips and finally decided this trip to stop in. The food is very good, the space cozy, the service just fine, and the music was a welcomed change - piano only our night and very well played. I think you would enjoy this resturant for a light dinner... More

Came back from a long bike ride in Loire. My husband and I were hungry, searching for a hardy meal but most restaurants were closed. Settled on LAncree dest Artistes for 3 course dinner: appetizer, galette, and crepe. Most galettes had egg fillings while we hankered for something more substantial. The rest of the food was quite tasty and well... More

French food at its best, I think, served by attentive owners, who know how to cook! We almost went back a second time, but there are so many restaurants ...

We ate here as it was recommended in Rick Steeves' travel book on France. The food was good and the service was excellent. My tepid review is based more on my selection (une galette) than the restaurant's preparation of it.
