We dined at the restaurant one Friday night. Superb food, service and wine list. During the day the Bar is open for coffee best coffee in town, is my view. Also great pizza.

We had two weeks in France to have the best food and the best wine in the world. We made advance reservations at 2 and 3* star Michelin establishments. But we also wanted to eat at restaurants without all the fuss; restaurants that simply had wonderful food. Le Bistro de L'hotel was such a restaurant. I agree with other reviewers... More

We went while on vacation in Burgundy. The restaurant is nicely and decorated. The tables are right next to each other. Luckily the group next to us were from California. And we're very nice. My wife and I got the whole chicken, which is for 2. While good, it was certainly not worth the 100 euros the chicken costs alone.... More

We went here on a recommendation from some friends. The service was fantastic and atmosphere was perfect. The food was good but way overpriced. We basically had rotisserie chicken and fries for 55 euro a person which felt like way too much for what it was. If money is no object then it would be fine but if looking for... More

We booked this table for a special celebration and were not disappointed - the food is exceptional - small portions but beautifully presented. The staff a little "stiff" but very courteous - the wine list is the largest we have ever seen and nearly as big as a bible - Wow! Don't expect to dine inexpensively here!

Unpretentiously efficient. Food quality is superb, on of the stars being the "Poularde de Bresse", the best whole roast chicken you will ever eat ( for two), not cheap but an experience. Wine list is stupendous, , heavily waited to Burgundy as you would expect. Eat inside or outside, equally pleasant. Table side "Crepes Suzette" might be a cliche but... More

Read NYT review describing poulet as velvet in your mouth (we opted for poularde, the female hen for 20E more), more like chewed jerky. It was 110E for 2 + 'seasonal wine' another 90E bottle chardonnay. Shared escargot starter, handed a bill for 230+Euro. Most expensive dinner for 2 I have ever had. This is a ridiculously overpriced restaurant for... More

The setting is absolutely pleasant, no doubt. You get the impression that you are in a first class restaurant. Staff is friendly and very correct. The menu promises a heavenly evening with a Menu Dégustation of just under €100.p.person. The amuses were ok, starter ok too but nothing special. Rather tasteless. Next egg with a generous amount of truffle slices... More

Yes, it will cost you a leg and an arm... but the poularde is certainly worth every cent. It's up there with the one at L'Ami Louis - and then we're talking the very summit of absolutely magnificent birds... The skin crackles, the flesh is moist... it's bliss! The Bistro is not for every wallet, but for those who can... More

Excellent food and outstanding wine list by bottle as well as buy glass. Specializes in whole roasted chicken( two kinds depending on the pedigree) carved table side. Other dishes are also available.
