My wife and joined another couple for lunch at the Brasserie Le Carnot in Beaune. It is a lovely spot to eat plus good people watching due it's excellent location of an intersection of pedestrian streets. We enjoyed very good food, drinks, and service.
Positive, open late, center of town. Decent food, good portion size. Wines reasonably priced. Negative: the business of a restaurant is hospitality. They have none, but the old fashioned Gallic charm & haughtyness that in the past gave the French a weak reputation. They expect...More
Located a short distance from Place Carnot at the intersection of several busy pedestrian streets is the large, inviting outdoor seating area of Brasserie Le Carnot. The menu offered a number of tempting items and scanning the tables; the dishes looked as good as the...More
We took this as a recommendation from our hotel and it was good. The location is right in the middle of Beaune so it's easy to find. We sat outside for lunch and we quite pleased with the selection and the taste of the food....More

I will recommend this restaurant. The food is really nice and they have a good selection of wines. The Mersault wine is recommendable to the salmon. The restaurant has outside serving in a quiet street and it gives a good atmosphere.

Very moderate to bad food: bad pizza, awful croque monsieur and sardines out of a can (unfortunately, we don't have a picture because it was ridiculous)! Do avoid this cosy looking brasserie and spending money here as it is absolutely not worth it. We won't...More
