During a week spent in this picturesque old walled town by the sea, my wife & I have made it a point (a duty?) to sample a range of different restaurants other than the ubiquitous crêperies. We had lunch at this fine, small, but quaintly elegant place today, both of us ordered the chef's special, a "pré salé" lamb dish,... More

Enjoyed lunch here. Food was excellent and good value as many restaurants in France are for lunch time dining. The assortment of butters - 8 in all, proved to tempting and with a constant filling of the bread basket meant I rolled out of the restaurant. Food was great, the only downside is I chose a wine, and not having... More

We have been waiting for a couple of years to visit this restaurant and it was worth the wait. We booked in advance (recommended) for an evening meal which was quite outstanding. The atmosphere and the staff was excellent along with the food. The 8 butters offered were delicious and unique. Would go again.

Taking his advice since he frequents the town when his apartment is not being rented, we were welcomed into a very stylish dining room that was small and comfortable. The Foie Gras starter was among the best 1st courses we had during our trip. Both our entrees, Turbot and Monk Fish, were extra ordinanry both from a flavor and visual... More

Booked in advanced, the service and ambience were both relaxed. The different butters were absolutely delicious, the food was good, though my father-in-law didn't really like his starter. Depends on the taste, really. But overall a positive experience.

We had lunch last Saturday at this small but stylish and welcoming restaurant. I would compliment the quality of the Lamb special dish of 3 cuts from Lamb sourced from nearby Mont St Michel. The amuse bouche was a melon sorbet with olives, the moorish 8 varieties of butter with fresh french bread then the delicious lamb washed down with... More

Autour de Beurre is a restaurant designed to showcase the butter creations (yes, butter creations!) of Jean-Yves Bordier. Basically, this is a butter-centric restaurant. It had to be good, right? And it was! The atmosphere was super-cosy, warm and inviting. And the food was even better. It’s a small little bistro so we were a little cramped, but it was... More

The restaurant sets the scene as soon as you enter the door. The decor is contemporary with decorative elements referencing the hero of this restaurant, the butter! The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to help with English translation and recommend appropriate wines. The food was creative, innovative, colourful and delicious. The stand out dish for me was starter... More

I had a good meal here. After an amuse bouche they bring out a bread basket with an assortment of butters to try. I believe we had salted butter, seaweed butter, a lemon and olive oil butter, a spicy butter, a vanilla butter, a madagascan vanilla butter (yep there were two) a buckwheat butter and a raspberry butter. The flavours... More

Everybody knows or should know the beurre Bordier... You may have eaten that butter in gastronomic restaurants. In Saint Malo intra muros they have their shop and their bistrot. All is around butter. French cuisine is using butter, but there only Bordier butter. This butter is done like in the old days and it makes a big difference. All the... More

Come discover an instinctive yet mastered cuisine, which allows Bordier butters to express themselves with seasonal products. The 'Bistro Autour du Beurre' offers you ideas full of freshness. Our Chef Steve Delamaire cooks with local fishing and market products which features Bordier butters. A unique and historic place, mixing raw, design and second-hand materials. You can privatize the 'Bistro' with a menu discussed with the Chef, or organize a lively 'wine-cheese reception' (40 covers seated, 55 standing).
