Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Called at this bar and had a great night. Super atmosphere and friendly staff, revisited the following night and again treated like valued customers, even being provided with a free bottle of red. Go to this bar for a relaxing and enjoyable evening

This is one of the most frequented pubs. They serve different kinds of liquor and are one of the very few who serve Guinness. Nachos here are the best. Ambience is top class.

The Salvation Jane is possibly the best pub in town. The choice of beers is huge and different from any other pub in town. In France, you usually find a choice of Belgian beers, but the Salvation specialize in British beers, with a good choice of tap and bottled beers that keeps changing. The staff love and know their job and are always happy to advise you. The food is fully home made and of great quality, especially since the new chef is there. The staff speaks English and is really friendly.

The perfect place to spend a convivial evening in Clermont-Ferrand.
After a tour that included the cellar bar, with its beautifully hand crafted timber work, we sat outside, on a balmy summer evening. The patrons and the hosts formed a friendly, inclusive crowd, as we drank from a broad range of beers.
And then came the food!
I had the ‘Trout Tartare’, which was brilliant. The whole menu is creative and a true credit to the Chef.
(If you are form the eastern states of Australia, and your sinuses seize up that the very mention of the name, like mine, take a deep breath and get over it.
Go anyway, you won’t be disappointed.)

Just wanted to write a review about this excellent development in a town very short of good places to eat on a Sunday! Up there with best Australian style brunches with generous serves of smoked salmon and avocado ... great choice of 'pression beers ... we will be coming back!

Had great night visiting to watch the rugby. Met the landlords, both of whom were a great laugh and very welcoming. Good spread of whisky and craft beers too.

Nice pub run by a group of friends, never tried the food but others said it was good. Good selection of beers they even had McGargles which is delicious. Quiz night Thursday is good fun, could do with a few large screens to show the sport.

Went here for a quiz night with family and friends...the whole atmosphere is just brilliant! It has a welcoming feel to it and the staff are all good fun! I had meal there which was very good. be warned though...the chips are very dark in colour...this is done intentionally...they taste fantastic! Overall...I would say that this is the best "pub" that I visited in Clermont Ferrand!

Take yourself to the best pub on Rue Terrasse, probably all of Auvergne.
Guinness for 6,50€. Fish and Chips for 12€. You might even land some pulled pork nachos for 8 bux.
Don't forget to check out downstairs, but don't plan on gaining admittance before 20h.
Quiz every Thursday in français and English. Make sure to reserve.

We were over for the Clermont v Ulster match in December 2016, and quickly made the Salvation Jane our home base. The hosts are superb (they speak perfect, colloquial English), and they keep their drinks well. Did not sample the food, but it smelt delicious.
The first evening, the power went out, but our hosts quickly brought out candles and continued to serve us all with humour and grace.
Really can't recommend this place enough for someone who likes a proper pub with good banter.
And I congratulate ASM (through gritted teeth) on their topping the European Cup table.

The prices are not so cheap, but I love this pub for its atmosphere and the range of beer choices. I often go there with foreign friends and we always spend a good time. Initially, I discovered this place thanks to the "café des langues" that was holding there by students. Also, the bar owner (a tall impressive guy that makes me guess he is the boss!) sems very easygoing and relaxed, and he can recommend beers according to your tastes, that's really nice.

A great place when I'm feeling homesick, excellent boutique beer, better fish and chips than in London, and a cozy place to hang in winter ...
