The wine is delicious and not very expensive. The cheese plates perfectly complement the wine. But be sure to get there by 6:00 or be prepared to wait in a line.

I only drank here so it is a bit of a false review - however it needs a review simply because of the wine. The waiters are trainee sommeliers at l'Ecole du vin (School of wine), so are wanting to impress with their knowledge. Prices...are cheap and you get proper, trained recommendations about what to eat. Worth stopping in.More

Great wine and even better guidance from Auriel who was superb in telling us all about the wine and it's origins. Would highly recommend!

The place is a tasting room for local wines. We had a superb couple of hours there. We photographed the wines we liked best and will be on a hunt when we return to the UK.

Following reviews on TA dropped in for a tasting. Service provided by friendly and helpful guy. Wide variety of wines to choose from with a small plate of cheeses. Wines remarkably reasonably priced, by the glass. Recommended

My wife and I visited Bar a Vin on a few of the nights during our recent stay in Bordeaux and absolutely loved it. The ambience is great, servers knowledgeable and friendly, and wine selection tasty and affordable. The selection is more limited, but is...curated nicely, with high quality options from the Bordeaux region. I would highly recommend visiting this wine bar!More

This place came highly recommended by our Airbnb host and our tour guide so we thought we’d go along. Arrived last night at approx 9.30pm to be immediately greeted by ‘we close at 9.45’. We quickly ordered a drink (a glass is anywhere between €2-€6...a glass, so very cheap. We also ordered a plate of charcuterie to go with our drinks. We noticed at 9.50, the doors still open and people entering...so I asked, what time must we leave, to be told 10pm. Why not close the doors? We quickly downed our drinks to notice people just relaxing over their wine with no attempt to hurry. My friend even asked at 9.45pm if she could order another, to be told a firm no, but again, people were still nursing full glasses around us. The main disappointment was that staff were efficient but not very welcoming. They were more interested in ‘shutting down’, performing all the usual functions, you’d expect should be done after patrons leave. I suspect this was why my friend was not allowed to order another drink??? It was not comfortable to sit at the bar whilst they did this. As a result, I’d recommend with caution. Go early, enjoy the wine on offer (avoid the overpriced plates) but don’t expect much from staff.More

This is a great Wine Bar to try Bordeaux wine by the glass. It is priced very reasonably at just a few Euros per glass. We also ordered a meat and cheese plate which was very good. The Sommeliers are very helpful and will work...up a wine flight for you. We enjoyed it so much we went back again. It is in a good location across the street from the tourist office.More
