Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were waiting to be seated at this cafe for some breakfast with our 8 month old dachshund puppy when the cafe owners dog (wired dachshund), who was off the lead, came over to us and violently attacked our sweet boy completely unprovoked. Their dog...has left our dog with permanent damage to his nostril and above his lip which was pouring with blood at the time. The owners of the cafe didn’t even tell us it was their dog originally and, despite me hysterically crying, neither of them offered us an apology and even had the audacity to tell us ‘dogs will be dogs’ when we went back to get their details and came as no shock to the owners which suggests this dog may have done it before and by no doubt will absolutely do it again. Even once my husband has picked up our puppy, their dog was at our feet trying to get to him. If you have a small child or dog I would not risk eating here, the dog was still off lead when we later returned for their information. When we asked who owned the dog, the owner told me he didn’t speak English and disappeared (which he certainly did as we then had a very clear conversation over the fact I would be reporting the attack to colmar city hall) This dog should not be allowed on the premises. My fear is that another dog or child will be next, you’ve been warned - enter at your own risk. We got off lucky but the next person might not be. The owners are the problem. If you dog is not friendly how can you possibly let it roam freely around guests, children and dogs?More

We had a lovely lunch. Arrived close to end of lunch service so despite a sign saying full on asking we were offered an inside table at the window overlooking the square. Prompt and pleasant service. I had the bouché or pastry filled with cream...sauce with veal and chicken and my wife the quiche from the specials list. No room for tart or dessert! Nice coffee instead. None of the negatives of other reviews. Right in the busy old town so no menu de jour or special lunch menu.More

I am really surprised on how so many people regard this place as high quality. I do not know which level of food they are used to. It is supposed to be a house of tea, but at 5pm, only one kind of dessert was...available: an apple pie which clearly came from the fridge and was only slightly warmed up. Really terrible, No options for children, like muffins or chocolate cakes. The coffee was nothing better than dirty water coming from rinsing a moka. Hot chocolate on average. Very disappointed because the environment looked promising.More

We can't comment on their food quality, as they did not manage to serve us. After waiting for 15 minutes we happily left the place. Staff and owners appeared quite arrogant. Luckily other food options are easy to find in vincinity...

We met a friend on the terrace of the restaurant for an aperitif. An ideal quiet place in the old town of Colmar.

We ate here during the Christmas market and it was beautifully decorated, really something to see. The food was superb! Great wait staff! Would definitely return!

So rude. Obviously this establishment doesn’t care for tourist. We went in for morning coffee and before we had a chance to ask a question the waitress (very short blonde hair) turned to me and said “just wait! I see you!!!” In a harsh tone....My daughter and I were embarrassed and shocked and just couldn’t believe it. I said “no thank you” and we went to look for another cafe. I really hate for this one person to ruin this beautiful city for us but she sure did try.More

We enjoyed coffee and pastries here on two different mornings. It seems to be a place locals favor as we saw the same people come in, order, look through the newspaper and chat with others. I took a liking to the resident dog, Gaston, who...became my friend after belly rubs. I think the café regulars were entertained by my fawning over him in English. A pleasant experience. Decent food and service. Recommended.More

We had tea and a slice of a blueberry pie in this place which was amazing. Cute decor, nice service and lovely ambiance with amazing pies! We will go back there today for lunch and I am hoping for a lovely food as well!

The food was great, properly cooked meat and delicious salads. Service was fast and the staff polite. The outdoor seating wasn`t that much fun, actually it was a bit uncomfortable.

Stopped here to eat but found out it was after 2 pm and they served only drinks and desert. Beer, wine, and apple strudel! When there are no options you take what you can get.

If you find yourself in the small town of Colmar in the Alsace region of France and are looking for a satisfying snack, head to Jadis et Gourmande on the Place du Marche aux Fruits. J&G is a “salon de the” which means they serve...light meals as well as pastries. I had a generous slice of mirabelle (plum) tart on my first visit. I returned a few days later to try the rhubarb meringue tart, apparently a local specialty. The meringue was light and not overly sweet. There is plenty of seating on the sidewalk around the shop, but if you want to avoid second-hand smoke (a fact of life at French cafes), there are lots of tables inside, and big windows for smoke-free people watching.More

Went here for some coffee and pie but were disappointed since they only served breakfast and croissants at 10 in the morning. The croissants were tasty but the cappuccino was served with milk on the side and was more a coffee with milk than a...cappuccino. There were two waitresses on duty, the younger one was kind while the older one was a bit stiff. Expected more based on the reviews.More

We were at lunchtime in Colman and had a nice Flammenkuechen at the closed market in town and were looking on our way back for a coffee. The restaurant looked a nice place to have a stop for that - already outside there was a...warning sign put up mentioning “complet” which means full. We looked inside and tables were free so we took one to sit down and order a coffee. Immediate on of the waiters came to us and basically made very clear that there was no interest in new customers or even serving a quick coffee. Based upon this unfriendly approach and bad attitude this place does not at all get a recommendation for my followers. Please make a big bow around this place - the are other nice opportunities in Colmar to eat and drink.More

We stopped by for pastries for breakfast and the waitress seemed peeved that we didn't order more, and just had to roll her eyes. The service was slow too. The pastries were ok but I wouldn't go back because of the service.
