Friendly staff, clean bright airy interiors, great food The Sunday lunches they serve are pretty big, so make sure your hungry, kids and adults all enjoyed their visit and food (kids pancakes for pudding were a real winner) We'll be going back

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and for the largely positive feedback. I'm really sorry that our roast potatoes were not up to scratch on this occasion and I will raise the issue with our kitchen team. We hope to see you...More

Why don't you allow dogs? We come in all the time but will need to stop once the puppies arrive!

Sorry, some pubs allow dogs and others don't ! There is a large outdoor seating area with heaters and the landlords may permit dogs on a lead there, however, as the other reviewer said - that is down to the landlords.

The Metropolitan's smart & classic decor reflects the building’s colourful history as a fine Victorian railway hotel. Behind the bar, tall library-style ladders reaching almost to the ceiling rest on a display of fine wines and premium spirits.Treat yourself to an afternoon tea in the relaxing library area with its comfortable armchairs, open fire and well-stacked bookshelves. Ifyou’re dining, take a seat in our elegant conservatory restaurant – light and airy in the daytime and warm and intimate come the evening, it’s the perfect setting to indulge in gorgeous home-cooked cuisine. We serve food all day from breakfast onwards and a there’s a selection of seasonal menus and daily specials to choose from. Our outdoor bar is a wonderful place to enjoy quality drink, fine food and balmy temperatures. You don’t have to wait for a sunny daythough; with its huge outdoor canopy you can dine alfresco whatever theweather.
