We arrived promptly for our reservation, to find no one to help us to our table. Having not been here before I was unsure if this was normal. We eventually found a table with a print-out, which had our reservation time. We assumed this was our table and sat down. We then wanted to find out the specials, which hadn't... More

My wife and I spent the night in Manchester recently and as this was our first stay in the city we hadn't booked anywhere to eat. We tried three different restaurants but they were fully booked. We spotted The Blue Pig so decided to call in for a drink. Just one table vacant for two people which was a stroke... More

We went to this bar/restaurant after receiving a gift voucher from friends. When we arrived it was really quiet and we were one of only 2 tables being used. The place just seemed a bit grubby, and shabby to be honest. The table had a wobble and the leather seats were all ripped. Now this may be the look that they... More

My first visit to Manchester. Stumbled upon this little place with my boyfriend, great vibe and nice surroundings if not a little noisy for 3:30 in the afternoon. The menu with it's 3 for £13 looked creative and vibrant, yet most of the food was average at best really. We had cauliflower pakoras but the cauliflower tasted as if it... More

Read good reviews so decided to visit with family. My lamb was very good, but served on a cold plate, I found that my food had gone cold before I had chance to eat it. I really don't like cold food so it spoilt it a little. Price wise, I've had 2 quality courses at Rosso for the same price... More

Food was fantastic, especially for veggie, good music, good vibes. £3 dessert was excellent, two mains and two desserts for £30. We will definitely be back!

What a lovely bar! Out after work on a Friday and we were able to reserve a table of seats for drinks. Staff were okay, but it's a bar trying to serve food aswell so if you were planning to eat on a Friday night, expect lots of noisy people around you as there isn't any designated separate eating space.... Originally looking to eat elsewhere, but full. I was not keen on going in, but we had a crying baby and a hungry wife, so I had no choice. Ordered food, it was great. Plenty of it, tasty, and well cooked. Nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and chatty. Left feeling pleased and full.

Description
The Blue Pig, an illustrious drinking hole situated right in the heart of Manchester's fabulous Northern Quarter, has gone through a transformation in the autumn of 2014. Carefully crafted cocktails are a speciality, featuring many of the well known (and lesser known) spirits that cram its shelves behind the bar; from fine aged exotic rums & unusual small batch gins to flavour filled vodkas, single malt whiskies, sippers, snifters & digestifs... Craft beers have a big part to play in its revelling repertoire as do some fantastic local real ales. The Pig's signature burgers and roasts are rated as some of the best in Manchester, and sharing boards & specials guarantee there is something for every food lover. Evenings and weekends are hosted by some of Manchester's finest DJs, featuring Northern Quarter favourites So Flute and Lee Majors plus special guests. Keep an eye out for details...
