Hi Ann, and thank you for your feedback! Fortunately we also have our top floor available to drinkers, so there is always somewhere for everyone to sit, even when it's raining! It's gorgeous up there too - perhaps you could venture up there next time you visit. We do believe you are confusing the pricing of beer with Sinclair's however,... More

We were a party of 10 people with ages ranging from 19 to 69 and booked a family meal after a matinee show. The restaurant is upstairs above a busy bar. The ambience was so relaxing yet had an excellent view for people watching. The staff were efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable about their food and drinks menus. Without looking... More

Hi there and thank you for the fabulous review! It sounds as though you had a wonderful time, despite it being a busy bank holiday weekend. You're completely right in saying it is best to book before you come in - we can often run out of seats, even when both floors of the restaurant are open! We do hope... More

We were singing at the Cathedral so at teatime we ventured out in search of somewhere to eat. A very short walk brought us to The Old Wellington, with its Elizabethan exterior. Intrigued, we remarked the menu outside, and finding it to our tastes, we ventured in. The inside was a clean, well balanced mixture of the old and new,... More

Had a nice pub lunch in the oldest building in Manchester. Had been moved but a good restoration retaining many period features. The food was good and the service good but didn't get quite what we ordered as my wife asked for a panini but got bread instead. Liked it though and clearly popular.

Hi there, Alastair, and thank you for your review. We're happy to see that you noticed the authenticity of our building - we love it just as much as our guests do! Regarding the bread choice, unfortunately we do not stock paninis so I am unsure why this change was accepted by your server. I will suggest to the rest... More

This was the starting point of a regular jaunt around Manchester's Pubs. The food was great and the staff friendly. The beer choice is good and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience the Manchester Pub Scene. Mixed grill is very good value and very tasty.

We came here for an early dinner before going to see Russell Howard at Manchester Arena, which worked really well. Quick service & good food, we both had their house pies, which were tasty and quite filling. Good selection of ales too.

Step back into Olde England and go to this charming pub. Great food and drinks, including an outstanding selection of savory pies. Try the venison and Malbec pie, which is just delicious and filling. The service is first rate, and the Doom Bar on tap is sublime.

Been a couple of times. Have a drink downstairs in a cozy and not very big bar or eat upstairs in the restaurant which has a very nice feel. Great to see such an old looking building in the centre of town. The pies are really nice. Right by the church and cinema not too far away.

My sister and I had dinner at Old Wellington after shopping at the nearby mall. To get to the restaurant you'll walk thru the classic, old-world pub on the ground floor. Great menu but not all items are available as they create only a certain number of delicious entrees but this only adds to the homey feeling of the restaurant.... More
