We visited to celebrate our anniversary and was not disappointed! We have been a regular yearly visitor to Northcotes and decided to visit Angels this year and thankfully was very impressed! Food and drink was excellent with great service! We were very pleased with the choice and quality of the food plus beautiful wines. I recommend this restaurant for any... More

Booked last minute as a Birthday lunch for our daughter. It's difficult not to find fault these days whether it's one of the courses or the atmosphere etc, but Angels was faultless. The owner greeted us and made us drinks while we waited in the sumptuous lounge. She was engaging and welcoming. We then sat down to a fixed price... More

Absolutely amazing, food was delicious and beautifully presented. We choose a starter of roasted portobella mushroom and goats cheese, bacon and rocket pesto. Followed by fabulous blade of beef, yorkshire pudding, horseradish, roast potatoes and vegetables. Dessert was delicious elderflower panna cotta with strawberries. The food was quality and serving staff were very attentive. Would highly recommend that you give... More

Took my wife for a birthday meal, have to say the food was excellent, I had a heritage tomato starter which was lovely and fresh and Ann had duck pate both good. We followed with celeriac and apple soup,Superb. I then had fish for the main course perfectly cooked and finished with a sherry trifle to die for. The chef is... More

Took my husband for a lovely birthday meal. We opted for the 4course menu (I think £37ish). You get about 5oprions per course bar soup course which is a set soup. We had scallops, and a mushroom with goats cheese, both of which were delicious. Followed by carrot and ginger soup. It was devine, creamy and so tasty. I have... More

We took advantage of a recent taster menu evening. I have been here a couple of times before as a treat, as it not cheap. Pleased to say that it still has that eclectic charm coupled with outstanding food and service. The taster menu wasa fixed selection of 5 courses, although they made some adjustments for one of our party... More

We went to Angels on Wednesday 5th April to take advantage of the super new spring menu they had on offer. We enjoyed every single thing, right down the the gin and glasses. Can't wait to go back again and eat the blade of beef, just wish they gave lessons on how to cook it!

Have been to the restaurant three or four times but always in the evening but on this occasion we tried Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. Starters of scallops and Portobello mushrooms were very good and as always at the restaurant it is the extra twists to what seems a fairly standard menu that made the difference...here the cheese with... We have discovered this restaurant only in the last six months and have visited a number of times since then. A friendly welcome is always given and the presentation and flavour of food is excellent. I would suggest that the young waiting staff need a little more input into how to build a rapport and friendly attitude with clientele as... More
