Went for pre theatre meal. Was slightly early for pre booked table but not an issue for staff and seated immediately. Everything up to and including ordering was fine and the usual standard but then it started to go downhill. Wine arrived. Bottle had already...been opened and was just plonked on the table. Not asked if the correct one nor if wished to taste it. Alright, call me old fashioned but it is little things like that, that make the difference. Didn’t appreciate it being delivered by a male in a cowboy check shirt and very crumpled Jeans. First course came. Mine was Alford’s Mushrooms. Not usual standard but, could play a game of ‘Spot The Bread’. Three minuscule pieces that were difficult to find. Then, as soon as first course finished dishes were removed and main courses plonked in front of us. If I had wanted fast food I would have gone to a fast food outlet not a restaurant. Wife’s fish was apparently very tasty but my pasta dish was, being kind, alright but nothing to write home about. Also a shame that I found pieces of other pasta in the dish indicating the cooking utensils had not been cleaned properly. Shame as I used to enjoy going to Ask for the service and food. Never mind, plenty of other restaurants in Maidstone to go to which, of course, Is exactly what I will now be doingMore

Spur of the moment meal out and it was tasty as always. The food and service is always spot on. Comfortable seating.

I did not enjoy my experience at ASK. The antipasti starter was completely overpriced for what it was. For main I ordered the "pollo piccante con pancetta" and it may as well have just been a plain margherita because there was hardly any toppings on...it, there was literally about 2 bits of chicken on the whole thing. We waited a very long time to be served and the food took a really long time to arrive, although they weren't very busy at the time. The service was poor. It is not good value for money. I wouldn't recommend, I think there are better Italian restaurants in Maidstone.More

We have been here several times in the past and the food is lovely and cannot fault it. However the service is awful. Our latest trip was in Sunday. The restaurant wasn't busy yet the service provided was awful. The staff didn't seem to have...specific tables to look after and therefore it was just chaotic. All the tables were waiting to be looked after at every stage of their meal and in the end I got up and went and found staff members to ask them if we could order our desserts and asked for the bill. I would like to say this was a one off but unfortunately this also happened at our previous visit which was a weekday evening.More

Love this place! Never had a bad meal here. Came on Saturday with a friend and was served by a very polite young lady called Jodie. She was extremely friendly without being over bearing, the good was delicious too 5 🌟 all round! Would recommend.

Been to this restaurant plenty of times and cannot fault the food or staff. always order the vegan fettuccine con melanzane as it’s my favourite and the vegan blood orange and chocolate tart. would be nice if eventually there was a vegan garlic bread available...on the menu. this visit we were served by a male manager and jaimee, service was excellent and will definitely be back soon.More

We were a large family party so had booked a separate room. We were asked to prebook our food rather than order on the day. The food and the service was excellent, we took our time so the party lasted all afternoon. Brilliant day had...by all.More

Popped in here after being let down by another restaurant. Kids a bit frustrated as a result. But we were welcomed so warmly. Food vety tasty (I loved the zucchini fries) and staff friendly and warm. Really turned a bad morning round! Can also highly...recommend the kids menu: lots of choice, right portion size, and quickly on the table!More
