We called in for lunch and were impressed with the choices on the menu. There was plenty to choose including a number of vegetarian choices. What was really impressive was that the food sources were all described highlighting the location most of which were local. The service was friendly and the pub itself was warm and inviting. We will be... More

Just stayed here for a few nights - we were made to feel very welcome - nothing too much trouble plus the food was delicious! Comfy rooms, in a beautiful setting. Definitely recommed.

We visited here with my daughter and son in law and their dog Paddy. After a very long walk we visited the Strawberry Duck. We had drinks and food. There is a wide selection of beers to choose from. I had the cheese pie for lunch and was impressed with the taste and the portion size my family also all... More

Stopped off here on Easter Monday after walking the Entwistle and Wayoh reservoirs with family. Service at bar for drinks ok however ignored for a little while when trying to order food. Ordered 2 x fish finger sandwiches, one pork sandwich and shared some chunky chips. The bread used for the sandwiches wasn't fresh; I'd say it was probably left... More

We booked a table in advance anticipating the pub would be busy and we weren't wrong! Our table was ready and we were able to order our food quickly, and received it within 20 minutes. The food was lovely... we ordered a hanging kebab, a burger, scampi and a chicken Caesar salad, as well as a cheese sandwich for our... More

Aftrr a beautiful walk around the reservoir (with our two dogs), we decided to call in the Duck for our evening meal and decided to have the Chicken Tandoori Hanging Kebab. Having had this on many occasions and enjoyed it, we were blown away with how succulent and plentiful the chicken was. As ever the staff were attentive and pleasant.... More

We stopped here after a walk round Entwistle reservior. I had my mother, 8 year old son and pug called Frankie. We walked anti clockwise round the reservoir so when we reached the embankment near where we started it was a 5 mins walk up the lane to the pub for a well deserved lunch. We arrived just before dinner... More

I have experienced rude waitresses in the past at this establishment. It's a shame as the food is good, as is the location. The service is painfully slow, more staff are needed. The poor guy behind the bar (who is pleasant to the customers) seemed to be doing the lion's share of the work whilst the waitress strutted around in... More

We booked a table here for Sunday lunch. Arrived on time and seated at our table. After a bit of a wait we finally found someone to take our food order. Starters came out about 25 mins later which was nice. An HOUR later we still had no sign of our mains - I asked what seemed to be the... More

I visited the strawbury duck for a catch up with my friend. I will not be returning! When I arrived I ordered a Sauvignon blanc which I was later told was a house white. The gentleman who served me for my drink was very young and friendly but just got the order wrong, which I didn't mind, I just questioned... More
