Average food, but coupled with terrible slow service I would look else where. To me it looks like the kitchen team are working their socks of, but know one else is and it really shows. A disappointing date night, come one guys I am sure you can DK better than that.

Myself and my partner (now wife!) wanted to say how amazed we were with Masa. Especially be the overall wedding planning by Victoria. We couldn't have wished for a better person whose calm nature made us feel instantly at ease, even with the stresses of trying to organise a wedding in only a few months. She was always quick to... We had a lovely late valentine meal last night at masa, lovely setting of an old church and the food was great. Staff were attentive without being over bearing. The fillet steak was beautiful and the portions were good. Cant fault it. Its not as cheap as other places but you pay for what you get. We went here some... More

Regularly go to Masa and it never disappoints. Went this time with family for birthday celebrations and it just confirmed our view that this is the best restaurant in Derby. The atmosphere and surroundings are beautiful and all the staff are polite and welcoming - they really do get the balance right between being attentive but not overly so. The... More

A gem far too hidden away and a quirky venue that's a real surprise when you walk in. Our Valentine's set menu was superb - great food perfectly cooked; good portion sizes complimented by excellent wine. The staff were helpful and attentive but not pushy and the service provided was second to none. A wonderful evening.

The food was amazing but don't expect to come away feeling over full. Carefully selected wines compliment the food beautifully

Beautiful surroundings exceptional food. Let down slightly by the service on occasion forgetting drinks we asked twice about etc but it didn't effect the overall experience we loved the quirky interior.

Lunched with three friends after visiting the cathedral. Surprised that on a Friday we were the only table. The cooking was of a very high standard - we chose from the Table d'hote menu - and there was a good selection of wines, including English ones not unreasonably priced. Maybe it's because the location is away from the city centre... More

Every time we visit Masa we love it more. It's such a pleasure to eat in a sophisticated and calm atmosphere, with truly excellent food. The staff are delightfully welcoming and efficient but they do not rush you at all. It's obvious that chef Matthew takes such care to source ingredients that are fresh, high quality and often local. We... More
