The restaurant and are absolutely fascinating, the history behind the doors is incredible. There are 4 main different rooms to use for lunches and gatherings. The property has been fully refurbished, it feels as though you are a guest in someone's home. All areas were clean and tidy. I had arranged a lunch for 18 retired ex-service men and women.... More

We went here because the building looks stunning and the interior has so much history. The ales are pretty good and the nachos I are awesome. That where the good things end. The barman was very abrupt and rude to my wife. The mains were appalling. Veg was tasteless and the pies were nothing better than what you could buy... More

Called in for lunch on Easter Saturday whilst visiting Gloucester. We found an area which was suitable for mum. She is less able with walking and has a stroller. Low sofas are out, and high stools also. We found an alcove with suitable seating, table 9, and ordered our food at the bar. On the menu was lambs liver and... More

Very nice food and good choice of beer. Relaxing atmosphere and comfortable seating to meet up for a meal and a chat with friends.

Haven't eaten here, but is a very nice place to meet up, it has all individual rooms with comfortable seating armchairs and sofas,in All the rooms, it's like sitting in your own lounge, there is also a lovely court yard out the back and this would be a little sun trap in the summer, I feel that it would be... Came here yesterday for lunch. The food was nice enough, but nothing special. More variety would have been nice. I had the prawn cocktail for starter, which was ok, but it needed some paprika for a bit more flavour. I had the bbq pork and apple pie for my main meal. Again, nice enough, but nothing special. Friendly service and... More

Absolutely wonderful pub, with several unique rooms based on the original layout of the house, wonderful nooks and crannies. Good real ale, and we ate a good, satisfying dinner of chicken, ham and leek pie, and fish and chips. I was surprised the pub was so empty, though admittedly it was Monday night, and the scaffolding currently around it removes... More

This is a beautiful renovated historic building but unfortunately, not much life within. I wish the pub could offer a better variety of drink, service and better quality food. It would be such a success if it did!

Used to use this place alot. The new management are great, but I think they inherited the bar staff. The gentleman behind the bar from Newcastle is very rude.Butting into conversations,He dont care if he serves you or not Definitely avoid this place if hes working.Could be a lovely and welcoming bar/restaurant.
