We used to drink here 20 years ago and walking into the downstairs bar it has not changed at all, band playing, good atmosphere etc. Went upstairs and there's another bar with a snug dining area. The currrent chef has only been there for a few months, and when we saw the amazing looking food other diners were getting (which... More

We visited early on just for drinks; so I am not sure about the food. Great place to go for live music shows which I think were scheduled every day on a board above the bar. It was busy bustling and noisy.

Popped in for a couple of drinks and felt it was somewhere I would love to go back to. Good music and also good value drink prices.

I had only recently heard about this restaurant and was really looking forward to trying something different from the chains. The menu sounded good and the place certainly was nicely decorated if a little chilly and quiet for a Friday night. The owner / chef seemed to serving and cooking single-handed so he wasn't around much but he was pleasant... More

We should have trusted our first instincts when arriving at this cold, mostly empty place at 8pm on a Friday night. It took 15 minutes before we saw the owner/waiter/chef? The starter of spice, oil and chilli flakes was served with toasted supermarket white sliced bread. Pretty ghastly! Is this what they serve in Egypt? My friend's falafel were nothing special,... We have been before and previously enjoyed the blue nile, but this time we felt the price had increased substantially and the quality of food gone down hill. We arrived on a Saturday night at 7 30 and the place was empty, it's not easy to find and not well sign posted but it right above the blues bar. The... More

Egyptian cuisine in small restaurant hidden away above the blues bar (literally; carry on up the stairs past the toilets). Nice, relatively unusual food - very good slow cooked lamb and vine leaves. Seemingly only one member of staff, so service was a little slow - to the extent we didn't stay for dessert. However, if not in a rush... More

Can't believe it's taken us so long to find this hidden Gem. We love quirky places with lots of character. Having been to Egypt myself a few times, it brought back happy memories. Such a shame so few people know about it, as it's upstairs above the Blues Bar. Our favourite starter was mixed feta, olives, garlic etc.. think it... More

I've never wanted to write a review on something before but this place is Amazing. The service is really great and the food is so tasty it is hard to choose a dish because everything looks good. Me and my Husband were the only people in there but it made it even more special. The portion sizes are really big,... More

This lovely little restaurant is tucked upstairs (and quite seperate from) the Blues Bar, just a few steps down the hill from Betty's. It's a smashing place with a small fresh menu serving delicious falafel, dips, stuffed vine leaves etc. It's a great choice for vegetarians but there are a number of appetising meat dishes too. Service is very friendly,and... More
