We stopped in the West after a visit to Matt Malloy's pub. The seafood chowder was the best I've ever eaten. Talking to the bartender, I found out that they have won several awards in Ireland and in Rhode Island, USA.

We were here a few times before on various holidays to Westport. We always found that the food was good and very reasonably priced but that the service was hit and miss. This time we found the service very good and the food as good as always.

Service was good, ambience very good, food really good. quaint area of restaurant to have a good meal. Several members of the tour ran into each other at dinner time. We all enjoyed our choices and never felt rushed to eat and leave.

The starter was tasty, Lobster and Crab tortellini which was in fact Ravioli. The main course I ordered, roast beef was so dry it was impossible to eat. my partner ordered the lamb which was so tough it was sent back to be replaced by the inedible roast beef. The vegetables were cooked to death. I believe everything was reheated... More

My partner ordered roast beef and I ordered lamb, it was truly dreadful, I really cannot describe how bad it was, vegetables almost cooked to a jelly like state, meat dry and totally overcooked, very probably microwaved, who on earth puts cherry tomatoes on roast beef or roast lamb dishes? This happened two evenings ago and I still have a... More

Their seafood chowder is so very good. I knew it won awards but compared it to the other four bowls I had on recent trip and none were as tasty. My friends loved the lobster ravioli and roast beef. It was a busy night and we sat at the bar but really didn't mind.
