After waking around town for most of the day, we were hungry, came upon this place, checked out the menu and gave them a whirl. The Irish stew was excellent, as were the beer.

Had lots of promise that never materialized, frozen food and staff that tried to cheat when the bill came, charging separately for a deal.

Visited Bollards on the recommendation of a local & employee at the Smithwicks experience. It was our first day in Ireland and wanted some authentic food and more Smithwicks. It was spot on. My wife had the Irish Stew with lamb and I had the Guinness Beef & Vegetable stew. Both were awesome and Owen our bartender and waiter was... More

Nice warm welcome on a rather drizzly lunchtime! We just came in for a beer (great range on tap including the Smithwicks 'trinity'!) but quite a few family groups came in for food and it looked very good - traditional sausage and mash, irish stew, vegetable soup, bread and butter pudding. Family run and also serving. Felt very welcome and... More

We had bangers and mash and beef and Guinness stew and both were AMAZING. We actually reworked our trip itinerary so we could go back a second time.

Took the opportunity for a late lunch here. Guinness was very good. Had the Mexican wrap with chips presentation was strange to say the least as the wrap came unwrapped. The tortilla was folded on the plate salad and meat served on top.

Pretty good eats. I had the curry and chips; it was delicious and plentiful. My friend had the fish chowder, which was a little salty but had lots of fish and shellfish.

We ordered and enjoyed one of our best meals on our 16 day vacation in Ireland at this pub. The food was excellent and so was the service.

This was one of our favorite stops in Kilkenny! Our family dropped in for a delicious and relaxing dinner after a long day of touring. The food was incredible, the drinks refreshing, and the service top notch! Eion, our server, is friendly and very funny -- we all loved him! There was a small group playing traditional Irish music too... More

Stopped in for a beer and something to eat. Ended up staying pretty much longer as the local craft beer was very good, the food was delicious, the ambiance was delightful and staff very courteous and friendly. Recommend their Irish Coffee as they simply have mastered this art in the making.
