This restaurant offers great Irish food at a great price. It didn't close for the holiday season, which was nice. They have additional seating upstairs. I got a potato stuffed salmon with salad, and it was delicious. My boyfriend got shepherd's pie, and it came with fries and a salad. All of the food was fresh, and delicious. You pay... More

Given it is off season and we really struggled to find a nice restaurant to eat in we persevered and found this little gem ..... I'm glad we did!!! We had three delicious courses. The portions were really big and tasty. We were offered more veg if we wanted to "just ask". We were told the same with our coffees!... More

Excellent dinner after our trip around the ring of Kerry. Everyone had something different and everything was good. Great value and service. It had that local feel.

I want to thank John Cronin for all your help with my group lunch booking over the October bank holiday weekend. Everyone really enjoyed it. Upstairs seating and the set menu worked perfect. Great food and service. John was very helpful with my enquiries by email and was extremely friendly when I met him at the restaurant. He made sure... More

The food was beautifully presented, delicious and the service could not have been better. Desserts were spectacular. November is not as busy and we did not wait long and were not rushed out. The food was high quality and price reasonable. I would recommend it for couples or families.

Booked in advance to ensure we got a table. Immediately noticed the lovely interior and cosy setting. Plenty of choice on the menu. Service a bit slow, but food well worth the wait! Friendly staff who went out of the way to help us. Overall a lovely evening and great value!

We came here on a rainy Wednesday night in late August and had to wait about 45 minutes for a table around 7:30 PM. We were seated upstairs, a nice and cozy space, and were treated to friendly and attentive service. They were able to accommodate my gluten-free and dairy-free medical dietary restrictions, even bringing gluten-free bread for the bread... More

We were tired of hotel restaurants on our tour and wanted a friendly local place with good food. The menu was varied and reasonably priced. The staff could not have been better and more responsive. And, the food was terrific. I couldn't believe my Bushmills for €3.50. Almost worth the flight over from the states. My wife's minestrone and my... More

I had the pork steak with melted goat cheese and chorizo for dinner here and I am still thinking about this meal almost a year later! If I ever find myself back in Ireland, I am definitely going to be making my way back to Cronins!

Description
History of Cronin’s RestaurantIn 1957 Johnny and Noreen Cronin opened a small lodging house down Clover Lane. Noreen who worked as a cook for a brief period in London decided to use her talents in the kitchen serving lunches for local factory worker. At the time it was quite a small operation with Noreen and Johnny doing the cooking the serving and the wash up . As time went by the Cronin family Grew and Sisters Joan, Katherine, Helen, Norma along with their brother Pat all began to work in the lodging house. In 1977 after realising the popularity of there lunches Johnny and Noreen took the decision to buy a small thatched cottage on College street and turn it into Cronins Restaurant. In 1996 Johnny and Noreen’s son Pat took over the business full time to ensure the family tradition continued. Today much has changed has changed in the Cronins but much of the ideals which Johnny and Norreen had when they first opened in 1957 remain the same , good quality food in a friendly family atmosphere, and with their children and grandchildren still working in the restaurant these ideals shall remain the same.
