Had some friends visiting and we decided to try this restaurant as I had heard many good things about it. So had high expectations, but overall disappointed in the end. I had the Smoked Salmon Pot with Potato Gratin and it tasted very bland. The...More

This is the type of place that five-star reviews are made for! I had the shepherds pie, my Lady Girlfriend Partner Person had beef with veg and spuds and the little one ordered a burger off the kids menu. I’m always watchful of the kind...More

We came here as part of a tour group of 40 and they did an excellent job of handling all of us. The fixed menu was nicely varied and the food of a higher quality than you would expect for such a large group. The...More

Tiny little place, cozy and comfy. Friendly service and probably the best chowder I had in Ireland. We both enjoyed the meal.

If you get nothing while in Ireland, the cottage pie at Cronins is not to be missed. It was made PERFECTLY. I can only hope to replicate this at home. Probably not. The service was just as good as the food.

Hi Jamie, My best advice would be to contact Cronin's themselves as they would be the best placed to answer this question especially as it is a serious issue if there was any type of cross contamination. To be fair they are... More

Description
History of Cronin’s RestaurantIn 1957 Johnny and Noreen Cronin opened a small lodging house down Clover Lane. Noreen who worked as a cook for a brief period in London decided to use her talents in the kitchen serving lunches for local factory worker. At the time it was quite a small operation with Noreen and Johnny doing the cooking the serving and the wash up . As time went by the Cronin family Grew and Sisters Joan, Katherine, Helen, Norma along with their brother Pat all began to work in the lodging house. In 1977 after realising the popularity of there lunches Johnny and Noreen took the decision to buy a small thatched cottage on College street and turn it into Cronins Restaurant. In 1996 Johnny and Noreen’s son Pat took over the business full time to ensure the family tradition continued. Today much has changed has changed in the Cronins but much of the ideals which Johnny and Norreen had when they first opened in 1957 remain the same , good quality food in a friendly family atmosphere, and with their children and grandchildren still working in the restaurant these ideals shall remain the same.
