Difficult to get a table at times. But well worth a visit for those with a sweet tooth not expensive. Wonderful cakes

This is my favourite place to go for coffeee and cake in Galway City. It also does great light lunch. The celebration cakes are amazing. Even if you have to wait for a table it's well worth it.

Goyas was always a great place for a treat, a lovely relaxed light blue atmosphere, with good coffee and great service. The scones were fantastically good, and the lunchtime menu - quiche, salad, club sandwiches - always satisfactory. And the staff were very obliging and pleasant. And even when they lost the run of themselves during the Celtic Tiger charging... More

Dear 196080, First of all, my apologies for the delay with replying to your review. I can understand your disappointment with your visit to goyas on the 20th, however it was unfortunate timing, as we had had a very busy day ...it was Christmas week,...and the floor team had obviously let their focus slip during your visit...I can only apologise... A fellow shop keeper recommended Goya, and we were so pleased to have followed her advice. Charming and delicious, we not only ate there, we purchased various delicious items to enjoy back at our hotel. Thanks for making another delicious memory in beautiful Galway.

Me and my sister visited yesterday for coffee and cakes and we were so happy with everything, the lemon meringue pie is amazing, as is the chocolate mousse gateaux! Our waitress was really friendly and chatty, and even brought out frothed milk instead of regular for the americano which I thought was a lovely touch!

Had had the cakes many times which are amazing. Recently we stopped in for veg soup & brown bread at lunch time and it was very tasty.

Goya's was my favorite bakery in Galway and probably in the whole county. Their sweet cream tarts are heaven!! I ate it at one of the outside tables while watching some inebriated guy loudly and incessantly bang a tin garbage can while 'accompanying' a nearby street musician. It was fascinating and very funny -- he was banging in perfect rhythm... More

Through the manager at Kirwan's Lane I found out about Goya's bakery who make a totally short notice birthday cake for my husband with light broken meringue and fruit sponge, the perfect complement to our fish dinner. Emer was amazingly accommodating, efficient and after seeing the wedding cakes she was making the same evening a true artist. Lovely, friendly people... More

Great find...off the beaten path, on a quiet little street, across from the best local crafts shop in town. Open for breakfast and lunch. Great pastries, coffee, sandwiches, salads and pies (quiche, beef and Guinness).
