A couple of locals recommended this pub to us. Very close to the downtown square where all the buses come and go from. We ate in the bar area, which has much more character than the large back room. Our food was great and the server was friendly. We liked the musician playing in the bar.

Visited couple of evenings with group of friends while visiting Galway. Nice food, friendly staff and good selection of beers to drink while listening to live music

Nice little snugs. Service is not the most friendly you will encounter in Galway but the atmosphere is nice. Toilets need attention. Food options are limited but look adequate for a quick stop off. Worth a visit and the live music....be prepared is loud!

We went here after a long day touring the surrounding region. What we received was comfy seats, great drinks (great gin list for fans) and good music. Dave&Matt were playing very enjoyable music - the only thing we had hoped for was a bit of Irish Musik too but you can't have it all ;-)

I visited An Pucan on Tuesday evening the 12th of July. My wife and I each had a gin and tonic followed by a meal consisting of Seafood Chowder, Crab Sandwich, Pulled Brisket Sandwich and a Beer. Oh My God!! Food is fresh and huge quantities!! Seafood chowder has huge chunk of salmon. Many of it! I ordered this as a starter and also main. Wow! Huge mistake! Seafood chowder itself can stand as main course. This bar is famous for selection of whiskey, too. So don't forget to get your Irish coffee.
