Went here recently with a group of friends and although the cafe itself was very charming the prices were NOT. One of my friends ordered pancakes but instead got pancake, singular, for €9.50???? Very expensive even if she was an awkward vegetarian! I got a very un-irish full irish for 9.50 but was charged extra for my tea and toast.... More

I went for tea; the place is darling, quite cozy, with nice table cloths, and tea settings. I had several choices for lunch, and chose the soup with an afternoon tea (set up). I was not disappointed, everything was served simply and it was scrumptious. The wait staff are smiling, kind, and competent. lovely

Visited on a rainy day in Galway with a group of friends I met on my bus tour. We had been sampling tea and scones along our bus tour and when I walked into this tea room I was instantly in heaven! The decor, the music, the service, the tea, the scones - all perfection! We were lucky to get... More

Went here with my German friend who wanted to try scones with jam and tea. Although they only had fruit scones, they were really delicious and the food was very well presented. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the decor was lovely. Other than the fruit scones, my main issue was that they didn't have standard Irish black tea, only... More

It might be easy to come in the door of Cupan Tae and turn right back around at the sight of the dainty china and delicate chairs and tables covered in doilies. Don't let yourself do that. My favourite thing to do is visit just after the lunch rush and have myself afternoon tea while I write letters or read... More
