Food was simply amazing. Best we've had since coming to Ireland. Service was great too! We had the lamb and it was literally melt in your mouth good.

Welcome, good seat, fast efficient service and the quality of good food is always presented and greatly priced.
Some people rave about the quality of food they get at Cracker Barrel. Galleon's food is on par with that. To me it is uninspired, unimaginative . Not bad, just not what I expect from a fine restaurant in a competitive market.
Ate in this restaurant on a Saturday night.Had to queue at the door for approximately 20 minutes for a table.Very busy place and the food was fine.We had chicken wings and soup for starters.Turkey and ham and steak sandwich for mains. There was very little meat in the steak sandwich but it was a tasty dish. The restaurant was very hot and... Got the Cod and Chips, (€16). Chips were lovely but the cod was in 3 pieces like goujons with very thin pieces of fish inside the batter so didn't feel like great value for money. We had seaplate - the most expencive at the menue. The shrimps were dry and tasted nothing - lying on a yellow majoneeselike sauce. 3 herrings from a tin. Dry and old salmon accompanied good coddfish. Lousy food for 18 euro each. Stay away!!
decided to pop into the Galleon restaurant for a bit to eat on a rainy day. the place was packed to the last and we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. food was lovely. will be going back.
