Gave this a second go - wish I hadn't. Food is mediocre at best...I just don't understand the good reviews, given that there are good Indian restaurants elsewhere in Dublin. Expensive bad Indian food for the Temple Bar rabble - you're all welcome to it.

We went here for food before a show in the city. Food choices were great especially for vegetarians and the staff really nice and welcoming. However the food was super salty. So to avoid the risk of stroke, we won't be going back. Montys -...More

Went for lunch. Thought it was strange that we were the only three people in the restaurant at 1pm... Soon figured out why. Food was nothing special. Portions were an actual joke. We all ordered the Chicken Pahadi. Two of them as mains and one...More

Can't understand the criticism of the staff in earlier reviews. Been coming here on and off for years and they are unfailingly polite - and the food is unfailingly good. Also have rarely seen a stag group here and never an unruly one. It would...More

Discussed Ledo Bedo with waiter and ordered two medium-hot. What arrived was very mild, even by Irish standards. Very disappointing given the place is quite expensive. Portions of curry are miniscule, rice even more so - two portions barely enough for one. Won't go back...More

I did not enjoy this restaurant at all. We were seated downstairs at an ill fitting table for 4. One person had to sit opposite the other 3 at the foot of the stairs to allow the staff to pass. We were told we could...More

First of all the food was great so no complaints there. What let this place down was the service. In comparison to other meals we had in our time in Dublin this wasn't the cheapest night. For what you pay here it would be nice...More

Popped in last night without a reservation and we got a lovely seat in the window. We ordered off the early bird menu which had plenty of choice for us. Both starters and mains were great and as usual the naan bread was amazing. We...More

Not good not bad, not worth seeking out. Dishes were ok chicken curry in a green sauce quite nice but other dishes like sizzling lamb and chicken not very tasty and small portions...like the ridiculously small portions of chutneys and pickles accompanying the poppadoms. Certainly...More

Montys of Kathmandu, a multi-award winning Nepalese Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarter and now more recently, in the leafy suburbs of Rathgar. Montys is the first Nepalese Restaurant ever to open in Ireland specialising in the beautiful food from the Himalayan Kingdom. We make everything inhouse and do nor use any artificial additives to enhance the flavours of our food. All our chefs are natives of Nepal and it is owned by Nepalis too. We pride ourselves on giving you the customers the authentic experience, with out taking any short cuts. We source all our ingredients, where possibly locally and use the best possible available to us.
