We had a lovely meal for the birthdays of Dad and son! Six in the party and everyone delighted with their choice of starters and mains....French onion soup, Goujons of hake, and avocado with prawn made up the starters, all delicious. The onion soup was deliciously caramelised with a great beef stock base... Two strip loins, one ribeye, two burgers... More

Have been a couple of times and have to say it has been very average each time. Food not so great, a bit bland and nothing special that really jumps out at you off the menu. Found myself trying to decide what I should order not because there were so many nice things...it was quite the opposite unfortunately each time... More

Thank you Irish Traveling for your review of O'Connells submitted this week. We have read each word most carefully and are most concerned that you have been underwhelmed on more than one occasion. The review seems to state that you last ate with us in November. If that is the case, I can confirm that since November we have had... More

So ! What does that curious headline mean, I hear you wonder? Simply this - magic ambience, one of the best dining spaces in all of darling ould Dublin, superb service, romantic setting, clean as a new pin, comfortable if rather enormous seats (had to employ all my pecs power to lift and shift mine), lovely decor, cool atmosphere with... When I or my friends are visiting Dublin we always head out to O'Connells in Morehampton road for a lunch or dinner - on my last trip I was there for both. Try the beef from the trolly, or the fish of the day or one of the daily specials that change every day. Tom always has an interesting selection... More

We had an amazing wedding reception at O’Connell’s. The food was really delicious and many of our guests commented on how professional and attentive the staff were. Tom, Annette & Mia were an absolute pleasure to work with in the run up to the day and remained in constant communication to ensure everything was on track and to our liking.... More

I have been here many times with an old friend and it is consistently good. Great place for tourists too as very accessible to city centre by bus or even walking on a good evening (25 mins from Stephens Green). Delicious food

Having done a little research for Sunday lunch, I decided on O'Connells in Donnybrook and I''m glad I did. This was probably the finest meal I've had out with my family. We were greeted at the door by a lovely lady, I believe she maybe the owner, she welcomed us and asked one of the waitresses to show us to... More

Thank you Dscott1971, We are so pleased that you enjoyed Sunday lunch with us. I will pass on your comments to everyone. I might mention our Tiramisu - a new young chef from Italy is making it to his Nonna's recipe - he cheekily mentioned - last Sunday in fact, 'I think the customers like my Nonna's Tiramisu more than... Just in from our best restaurant meal in months. We had a voucher for O'Connells in Donnybrook and it was really lovely. The menu choice was really good with a nice emphasis on fish though my husband had the ribeye and he raved about it. The beautifully cooked food was well complemented by very friendly, welcoming but highly efficient staff.... More
