The food is good and the cocktails are great, good selection of craft cocktails. However the service is a bit lacking. They tend to get very busy and do not appear to have enough staff. The atmosphere is very nice, that of a casual pub with good history and interesting decor. Fish and Chips was very good. Soup of the... More

We stayed at the Clontarf hotel and we were so pleased with how lovely the in-hotel bar was. It fit the overall decor of the hotel and the staff was so friendly. They even kept the kitchen open late so we could have ice cream :)

This bar is just like the days of old with the polished floors, huge wooden bar, large ornate wood backdrops and fine 11th and 12th century reminders. The bar is equipped with all the modern necessities and accompaniments to appease the hearts of minds of all appropriate ages. I found the bar to be a place of elegance, distinctness, and... More

Had lunch there yesterday. I had a very ordinary carvery beef lunch. My Partner asked for a Turkey sandwich, it arrived with slices of rubber turkey from a packet, it was not fresh. The sandwich was expensive as was the €3.10 cup of Tea from a single Tea bag. Cost with a tip (earned from a nice but overworked waitress)... More

Dress it up or dress it down. Either is in step here. Excellent food and an open atmosphere. Can get a bit crowded with the after work crowd but on weekends it's a bit more tame. Nice place for couples and small groups.

The bar setting is beautiful. The hotel is stunning We ordered a few honey glazed ham sandwiches: I was excited and expected a brunch that is out of the norm... it wasn't! I knock up the exact same sandwich every day with ingredients from lidl but don't put a big bad price tag on it!! Ordinary bread, cheese and ham.... More

Stayed at Clontarf castle hotel and enjoyed our first Guinness in Ireland in the Knights bar. Pricing was reasonable for a pub and the food menu was comprehensive and of a good quality. The atmosphere aligns with the hotel being medieval and they have bay windows where you can enjoy drinks with a view.

After a long day of enjoying the beauty of Ireland, one can come and rest and relax in a very well stocked bar that serves high quality meals that reach way above the normal fare of a bar. The evening ice cream offering is a hoot and a must do splurge!

My experience with restaurants located in a hotel isn't great, normally expensive and not very good. Knights Bar is a fine pub with great food, interesting beers all at a price you'd expect to pay in a Dublin pub. Highly recommended!

We ate here while staying at Clontarf Castle and absolutely loved it. They had live Celtic music every night and the pub style menu was very good.
