It's a tiny spot so you may not get a seat but regardless this is the best coffee I've had in Cork City.

Filter is an archetypal third-wave coffee shop. If you have opinions about coffee, then this is definitely the place for you in Cork. I was visiting Cork for a very busy event, and these fellows kept me going with one perfect espresso after another, with beautifully crafted coffee-and-milk beverages for my friends. The coffee is excellent, with a small but... More

Coffee grown worldwide can trace its heritage back centuries to the ancient coffee forests on the Ethiopian plateau. There, legend says the goat herder Kaldi first discovered the potential of these beloved beans. "The story goes that that Kaldi discovered coffee after he noticed that after eating the berries from a certain tree, his goats became so energetic that they... More

I'm a regular visitor to filter. The coffee is lovely and strong, just how I like it. They have lots of good blends. Selection of cakes is varied and very tasty. If you manage to get a seat and have your coffee sitting in, the vintage cups and plates are lovely! Decor is a bit random for me - but... More

Intimate and friendly cafe with good food and the best coffee around. Fast considering it is busy and the coffee is super fresh.

Filter was very good when it opened first. The owner worked there all the time and standards were high even if service was a bit slow. As he works there less and less frequently coffee has gone downhill. The staff go through the motions but it seems like mentally they want to be somewhere else.

Really nice place, looks great and chilled atmosphere. Great staff. Only problem would be the coffee, really weak and not much flavour. I was very disapointed

Described by the Lonely Planet as a "monument to coffee nerdery" and they are right. Numerous varietals of coffee with a small staff that knows its stuff and will brew your cup individually. If you like coffee you need to go.
