This is my favourite pub in Douglas. Great place for drinks and a chat. Lovely food. Had nice lunch there today, Roast of the day sandwich with chunky chips and side salad. Very tasty. Very attentive service. Top marks! Tip: Lovely atmosphere at Christmas.

Thanks for your kind comments about the South County. We're delighted that you enjoyed the food and general ambiance of the bar. We have just introduced some tasty additions to our Week-end and Evening menus. 'The Chicken, leek and mushroom pie' is a new favorite on these cold days. See you again soon, Tom O'Connor More

I led a group tour to Ireland and we visited the South County Pub for lunch. Tom O'Connor and his brother run a top notch establishment. The food is outstanding (fish & chips - simply the best!) as is the service. Tom arranged for our group to be entertained by two musicians. The musicians were absolutely brilliant! Thanks Tom O'Connor... More

We were guests on Friday night last to a 40th birthday party. The party was in the Cafe area of South County which was perfect away from the loud music for the older folk and yet had all the atmosphere. Party food was excellent and no sandwiches!!! Attention to detail was very good as a staff member was assigning to... More

Called to the south county bar for lunch with kids and hubby at the weekend. Spent a relaxing hour or so there. Food delicious and suited all our needs. Service friendly and prompt. Bar man is a nice chap with interesting chat even if I struggled a little decoding the slight northern accent that delivered a few fun stories at... More

In short, Friendly bar staff, good food, comfortable surroundings, A+ Stopped here during a recent ramble around the south west. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of food as previous stops have not been so great (especially when you are tired and weary from Hiking). The Bar man Kevin?? was sound. I didn't hold it against him that he is from... More

I like going there in the evenings for a bite to eat after work and catch up with friends. I love their salads. The dessert menu has not changed for a long time and i would think it would need an update/change. The staff are friendly. One think I dont like about the place is the lighting it is very... More
