Amazing amazing amazing! The food was so good we opted to eat their twice during our two days in town. Highly recommend the lamb special and the pasta, everything was so good but those were my top two!

Went here for the 3pm slump one day last week and the food was fab, along with the atmosphere and the staff. I got the veggie pasta with a side of chips which was a mistake as the pasta alone was even too much.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was charming. The staff was very friendly. They had specials every night and there was never a wait.

We stayed in Ennis for only one night and The Old Ground Hotel were recommended by the owner of the Airbnb House where we stayed. The larger restaurant in the Old Ground Hotel were closed so we ate in the pub, The Poet's Corner. What a pleasant surprise!

Lorraine, oh, Lorraine -- how you made our evening! Our waiter was a quintessential Irish wit (known as "slagging," this good-natured teasing is an Irish art). We were five and the bar was busy, but Lorraine tucked us into a corner table (I told her we were fine with cozy), and then proceeded to provide outstanding service and pithy wit... More

tasty and good portions, quiet enough (for a bar). Very handy - out the front to the high street, out the back to the hotel reception.

Called in here for lunch midway through a day's journey. Friendly and efficient service. Atmospheric surroundings. Big, satisfying portions served with a friendly smile. The starter (a truly excellent chowder), was so filling, I couldn't finish the top quality main course (salmon). Absolutely no room for dessert! Wheelchair friendly.

Stopped here for dinner on the recommendation of our B&B owner. We got there around 630PM and it was busy. The hostess got us seated within a few minutes. We ordered drinks as we looked over the large menu. It was a nice selection. We had halibut, chicken kiev and fish and chips. The service was good for as busy... More

Great, authentic pub food. Had several meals and pints here during our stay! We were fortunate to hear live music as well.

Busy old fashioned pub. Very pleasant atmosphere with generous helpings if you are eating and sometimes music in the evenings.
