The Kitchen came highly recommended by the locals and was a good first taste of Scotland. Very friendly welcoming service and downstairs you can see into the kitchen which, I think, is always nice. The food is good, but perhaps the menu is trying to be all things to all diners with a very wide choice and I think the... More

My wife and I had very good meals at this restaurant and the service was good. I have to be gluten free and they were accommodating. The glass walls provide a nice view across the river. We made reservations, as it gets crowded at dinner time.

Sent my steak back once as was completely raw not rare. Didnt want to send it back again but was awful afterwards and left most of it, staff were very nice and took some off my bill but was a shame as been here a few times but wont return.

We had heard good things about this place, but unfortunately they were not true. Our food took ages to come, and when it did we sent it back because it was stone cold. It was not just us .... our floor had 10 covers, and 6 covers complained in the 2 hours we were there. The manager was nicee enough... More

Had a wonderful evening here beside the river. Spectacular beef fillet served by generous and welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

although both are really nice, I felt the food was just so much tastier at The Kitchen. A starter of Ham Croquets was particularly beautiful as was the wine. The only issue I had was with my steak, which I also had at the mustard seed, was it was quite tough, and that was having it medium rare. I cannot... More

Had lunch there on Saturday. Wonderful location overlooking the river. Great service and superb food. Two courses for £8.99 - good choice of food and when it arrived everything was superbly cooked and tasted delicious. Will definitely be back. Just wish we'd had time to make a second visit this trip.

I headed into the Mustard seed across the river, which I'd been to several times and it was fully booked by a coach party so the girl called across to the kitchen brasserie to see if they could provide a table for me, I was seated on a nice table on the ground floor next to the open kitchen. I... More

Me and my parter booked a table here and were not disappointed. Staff were very kind and professional. Both our meals were beautiful! And I very much enjoyed my Long Island iced tea cocktail :)

We didn't have reservations until that day. They were so nice to accommodate us, as it was a busy evening. Can't say enough nice things about the friendly, professional staff. In fact, after our dinner, they were nice enough to open the third floor deck and let us enjoy another glass of wine overlooking the river and city. And as... More
