We met up with friends and we had a group of 14. We opted for a banquet style dinner. Food was good and we all had a great time. Was just surprised at how expensive it ended up being. Would expect a little more for...More

I've been to Dakhin a few times now, for lunch, mainly, and it must be the best deal in the city centre, in terms of quality versus price. £9.95 for a 3 course meal, with some poppadums and dips thrown in before the first course...More

My family and I went for a mid week dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. What we didn't know before going was that this restaurant is entirely gluten free. Menu was really different with it being South Indian cuisine. The friendly staff recommended a few...More

I love Dakhin! I hate giving a bad review however this visit wasn't so good. We opted for the thali lunch menu. I was really looking for to it. However what was delivered wasn't what is shown around the various social media sites the company...More

We have always enjoyed our meals at this restaurant. Nice area with some nearby pubs for pre/post drinks. The menu has lots of choices and a nice range of wines. The bar area offers many more drink options both alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Great lunch - 3 courses 9.95 or tray with a selection of dishes. Great attentive service, lovely atmosphere and no rush / appropriately judged speed of service.

We had visited dakshin for dinner after a very long drive. Rasam was good. The chicken starter was very bland and with very little flavor. Haddock fish was good. In the main course the only thing that worked well was the dosa. Chicken biryani had...More

We ate here on the recommendation of Indian friends who joined us for our first experience of South Indian food. It helped that we had the benefit of their knowledge because the menu is very different to the more westernised menu. We were advised that...More

Perhaps I was put off by the general ambience, decor and furnishings, but I didn't enjoy this experience at all. It is a pub - fairly dark and tavern-like. The food was lacklustre and didn't deliver the aromatic flavours I expect of a class Indian...More

Yes children are welcome. I'd imagine if you phoned the Restaurant Manager before your visit, he or she would arrange something for you. They are most helpful and very friendly.

Established in 2004, Dakhin was the first authentic South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Set amidst the centre of Glasgow's Merchant city district, it offers diners a vast array of speciality dishes from India's southern region. We're talking about authentic recipes using fresh natural ingredients from award-winning chefs. Food worth talking about, and a warm dining experience to savour. Dakhin proudly features within the Michelin Guide and comes highly recommended by many food critics. If you are looking for something different from your run of the mill Indian restaurant then you'd best be sure not to miss out.
