4 of us go out regularly for drinks and had heard that Finlays was a good pub to visit. Unfortunately it wasn't. We ordered a bottle of rose wine and it was completely undrinkable. It smelt of sick and we couldn't even drink it with crisps. The barman told us that we couldn't have a refund just because we didn't... More

After an absence popped into Finlay's one Saturday night. Although having a DJ and being able to have a dance, the place was dead with only about a dozen customers. On the plus side the bar staff were very pleasant and gave us a promotion card which allowed you a free drink after buying a few.

We popped in here for a quick drink on Saturday lunch time as we hadn't been here for 24 years! We decided to have a bite to eat and were glad we did. They serve standard pub grub but it was freshly cooked and delicious and excellent value for money and the dishes we saw delivered to other tables suggested... More

This was our second visit since we put this eatery back on our list of haunts. The new owners are keeping up the good work. Maintaining the great standards they set themselves at the start. We highly recommend this establishment for a really good pub lunch at very reasonable prices. Staff as always pleasant and attentive.

We called in here as we had missed this watering hole for quite a while. Great wee pub and now the two girls have taken over it is a must for people who like to lunch out. The service is great, the food is fan dabby dozy and the prices are really reasonable. This establishment has in the past had... More

This place probably isn't the first place you would think of when going for something to eat in Shawlands but it is a hidden gem. The food is good honest pub grub at great prices. The fish and chips (more accurately the whale and chips the portions are so large) are a treat.

I visit Finlay's often, both for a drink and/or food. Fantastic, fast and polite service and the staff are very friendly. Food is always freshly made and is served within a very reasonable time after ordering. I have recommended this place to my friends and family and will keep visiting here as it is simply superb!!

The bar is fantastic offering a wide range of foods from light bites to a full blown traditional Scottish dinner. Its a very relaxed atmosphere with you seating yourself on arrival but the staff are very observant and we we're served within minutes of sitting down. The portions are larger than expected and we couldn't even finish our meals! But... More
