We made reservations, but showed up early. The place was packed, but they were able to get us a table upstairs amongst the greenery and twinkling lights. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff The mussels were the best we've ever had

This place was the best. I arrived well before my booking time and they were very accommodating. Got a quick whiskey tasting lesson with my lowland flight. Ordered the vegetarian haggis with the whiskey sauce and it was delicious. I also had the Highland Crowdie...More

Offering both small (similar to tapas style) and larger portions is a great idea and I think more places should do it! Plus, you can save room for dessert if you have a smaller portion of dinner! I had the very Scottish venison haggis with...More

I love the upstairs because no matter the weather it's a magical place to be. We had a short window to grab a bite to eat and thankfully we were served within this window in a very relaxed way but also meant there was no...More

Lovely atmosphere if you can get a table in mezzanine level amongst the plants but book early. Food is good and service too even during busy graduation schedule. Lots of places nearby for aperitifs and walk in nearby botanical gardens afterwards maybe - it's light...More

Floating on the mezzanine overlooking the main restaurant at The Ubiquitous Chip, The Brasserie offers inventive and wholesome bistro-style dining with the same integrity and commitment to good quality food as the main dining area. Set over the top level of The Chip and offering everything from all day brunch at the weekend, quick midweek lunches and leisurely evening dinners, The Brasserie menu is as diverse as it's surroundings. Like the original restaurant opened back in the 1970s, The Brasserie at the Ubiquitous Chip is on a mission to keep Scottish food and Scottish producers firmly on the culinary map. Using nasturtiums and tomatoes grown on our own mezzanine, Inverurie beef, Seil Island crab, Loch Melfort mussels and Ramsay's of Carluke's pork belly - we offer you the best of what Scotland has to offer in a magical space.
