I can understand the reasons for the high rating. The service is friendly and efficient, the seating area though small is effectively utilised so you're not on top of the table next to you, menu is solid, if a little pork heavy [both the fish and chicken courses on our visit were wrapped in bacon]. Food was tasty and plentiful,... More

Visited this astounding bistro recently as a party of five (four adults and one child). All I can really say is magnificent meal and wonderful staff. You have to try this place. The portions are large and you certainly won't leave feeling hungry. Whatever you do don't leave without sampling the dessert platter it's amazing!

Like others we booked this ahead of coming to Glasgow for the Games on the back of Tripadvisor recommendations, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Wonderful cosy but elegant bistro, extremely friendly and helpful service and excellent food. Even better, when we neglected to leave space for pud, they packaged up a delicious selection of desserts-to-go for us which... More

We went here again, this time with friends. So impressed the last time. The quality of food, the service and the atmosphere. Once again, it was fantastic. I'm praising this place highly. It's a must try for those who like good food. One of the nicest places to eat in Glasgow. Brilliant. Keep up the good work.

This was the only restaurant we booked for dinner before coming to Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games. We were watching the swimming that morning at Tollcross and Bus 61 took us right from the pool to the restaurant. The ladies who greeted us and served us were so friendly. We had the Sunday roast beef dinner with all the fixin's....absolutely... More

Our party of seven went for an evening meal at The Black sheep whilst in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games. We booked the restaurant after reading good reviews of it on Trip Adviser and were not disappointed. The place did take a bit of finding as we walked to it from the City centre, about 25 minutes walk and not... More

We went to the Black Sheep today were late for our booking because of the traffic . That was fine I think a few people had problems getting to the bistro in time today. The staff were very welcoming in fact not sure if the lady who initially spoke to us was the owner but she made us feel very... More

Visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. An extensive menu was on offer in a relaxed atmosphere. My steak pie was delicious. My partner enjoyed his cod wrapped in Parma ham so much it was devoured in record time. Portions were huge which left no room for dessert unfortunately. Will return.

Yesterday I went to the black sheep for a meal with work friends, there was 8 in total in our party. We went here as I has been here previously and loved it. Service was good but a few people in my party were disappointed with the meal. 2 had the macaroni which looked lovely but extremely cheesy and very... More

We first came here in December, and have been tying to book a return table since. Finally managed to book a table for a reunion dinner for our diverse family. It is hard to comment further, other than to reiterate. This is a wonderful establishment. Really friendly service, a great menu full of surprises and twists to the dishes, and... More
