Definitely worth a trip out to Morningside for a drink and or dinner. You can spend hours in here and still not cover a fraction of the eclectic decor. Huge range of spirits and a decent wine list.

Second visit here whilst up visiting family from Nuneaton. The second was as good as the first! Food was delicious and different with not a chip to be seen (thankfully!). Will definitely be back.

On a recent visit to Edinburgh, my daughter took me to the Canny Man's Pub and Restaurant so that we could celebrate the forthcoming publication of my debut novel, Hunter's Chase, by Crooked Cat Books. The Canny Man's pub in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established...More

I made this account for the sole reason to complain about this awful establishment. The owners and management bully their staff right in front of the customers and it makes you feel very uncomfortable to watch. It is very obvious that they warm to a...More

Had dinner recently at The Canny Mans. The ambiance in this place it incredible and has to be seen to be believed. The Kerr family continues to do a great job here. Dinner was terrific and served by a knowledgeable and attentive staff. Had a...More

A nice and convenient pub with decent beers. Staff not particularly welcoming, appearing to be tired or a bit bored. Food was ok and arrived quickly but portion sizes were modest, necessitating a second course for hungry diners. Overall disappointing.

Whether a regular, tourist or southsider, everyone should visit the Canny Man. Family owned for too long to remember, traditional public house offering an amazing selection of spirits, wine and beer. Great place to meet new people, catch up with friends and rub shoulders with the...More

Very disappointed on a recent visit to The Canny Mans to have been charged £75 for a bog standard Rioja crianza that retails for £10 (ex-tax). Beware what you order. My mistake as I should have wine-searched the bottle first. I don't grudge a healthy...More

The only real pub in Scotland, incredibly original. The staff are so professional and the food was delicious. There is a real eclectic mix of people ! Everyone in the bar on both sides looks after you feels very homely.

This is a very good pub which serves very good food. Families do go to it, but it's not the first place in Edinburgh I would think of for a child-friendly experience!
