I HIGHLY recommend going on one of the days they have the food trucks there. The food was absolutely devine! Like, honestly the perfect amount of diversity and SO delicious. I also went the next day for breakfast and ordered bacon & egg burgers which took an extremely long time and the staff were not very helpful or understanding about... More

I really wanted to like this place. Bar waitress was really good & we were served quickly. Unfortunately we then ordered food & it all went wrong! We ordered 2 burgers & my partner said he didn't want fries with his (these were paid extras & didn't come with the burger) & I said I didn't want any with mine... More

In the day quiet pub, good for sport and nice seating inside and out. At night a hedonistic place with bars outside, loud banging music, food stalls, hen and stag dos and a packed dance floor. Music is excellent, pub is jam packed both inside and outside. Great for sport and for partying. Toilets are clean, drinks aren't cheap tho.

Don't pick this place especially in the festival time. It was too crowded very noisy and mainly standing room only. There were also young children trying to get in and out for shows. Maybe not the best location for shows for young children

Hi moi54, Thank you for taking the time to submit feedback on your experience at our venue during the festival. Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. As we are a free festival venue with many shows running throughout the day & night, it can get quite busy. The majority of children shows are in the morning... More

I booked our group here as part of a stag weekend. There were 25 of us but the venue accommodated us quite comfortably. Weeks before we arrived the staff there communicated with me fantastically well and made sure we had everything we needed and more! The man planks were a great treat and put party thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

Large amount of space inside and outside. Which fill up quickly of a weekend with stag/hen and group outings. Lots of screens for watching sport etc and do show a mix of games at same time, so caters for wide choice. Several bars ensure you don't wait long to be served. Price in our view was a premium over what... More

This pub was chosen as a meeting up point for our weekend in Edinburgh.... the pub was very busy and is very popular with students, stag & hen parties and those staying in the nearby hostels. However, the pub does offer plenty of live sports, so if you're into football & rugby you'll find the game you want on one... More

Spent a great evening here with my mates during my stag do (dressed as a Lego Man, believe it or not). The drinks were well priced, the atmosphere was great and this is one of the top nightlife attractions to visit. A must visit if you're into a good night out in the Capital's Old Town.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
