Absolute perfection, paid a visit to this Gluten Free food cart as my girlfriend has coeliac disease. It's ran by a mother & daughter duo, both of whom are friendly, helpful and polite. So, why does it rate so high? That's simply down to the amazing fresh cooked Brazilian food prepared before your very eyes. Portion sizes are generous, the... More

Deliberately looked for this hut having read about it on TripAdvisor. Well worth the visit. No indoor seating and a wait for the food as it's all cooked to order but well worth the wait. Tasty and hot. Friendly couple who run it. Glad we went.

The little box is a great spot for quick lunch! On a sunny day(apparently) the place is just great to grab a hot pancake. Prices are reasonable with quite big portion. Delicious and hot!

It is just a tiny stand with a few seats outside. The pancake is huge and tasty. Everytime I find it hard to go back to work after having such a big lunch.

I have come here a few times as I absolutely love this place. I usually get the pumpkin crepe (sweet potato, squash) and it is delicious, and is only about £5. You can request changes to the set crepes if you want a bit of a change, and they make it as mild or as spicy as you want. They... More

You cannot miss it: the Green Police Box at the top of Middle Meadow Walk. This is the place. The spot where you can find great street food ... great healthy Brazilian crepes. Last but not least, very friendly service. I really recommend "Tupiniquim".

I try to avoid buying lunches mid-week at all costs, but a friend introduced me to this place and I cant get enough. Family run, the freshest/tastiest ingredients all prepared right in front of you. Today we waited about for 30mins in the rain until they opened, considered venturing to a festival pop-up stall, but knew wouldn't be as satisfying... More

It's only four stars because it can take quite a time to get your food and in this hasty age, we find that challenging. But it only takes a long time because it's a tiny police box and so many people want the food! I had a goats cheese and vegetables crepe and it was utterly, utterly delicious. Then I... More

Picture a tiny green box with a lovely Brazilian couple standing next to each other making beautiful Brazilian crepes full of fresh savory or sweet ingredients with big smiles on their faces. Absolutely delicious and a full meal wrapped up in your hand. Gluten free to boot!

The tastiest gluten free crepe I have ever tasted. Bursting with flavour it was a pleasure to enjoy. Arriving earlier than the opening time of 12 noon yesterday I was told if I gave it 10 minutes my crepe could still be made even though they were not open yet. Thats customer service which a lot of other establishments could... More

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
