Visited on tuesday 21st lunchtime for a cocktail n snacks using an itison voucher. The staff were great as usual and even took the time to take a pic for us! The snacks were tasty and just enough and the cocktails just right! Wish we hadnt had to rush off for train...next time we will stay longer and sample more... More

We came here when staying at Tigerlily just a couple doors down. This place has a lovely atmosphere with nice staff. We used an itison voucher which was brilliant value. The voucher was for two cocktails and three bites. The food and cocktails were excellent. Would definitely return, hoping they have another itison deal soon.

This place is a life-saver when you're eating on a budget! Shakes and cocktails delicious; food was also amazing, large portions and only £5 for a main! Will definitely be returning on our next visit to edinburgh. Staff were lovely also.

A lovely buzzy place with really friendly staff. We used a Groupon voucher and what a bargain! Two lovely cocktails and three bites - big bites to enjoy. Would recommend this place.

Amazing cocktail list for a girlie trip. Service was very good. Food was brilliant - three sides for £6 and everything on the menu under a fiver. It was just great.

Went in for dinner and some drinks as i've heard it's a nice wee place. It's cosy and has a nice feel too it/nice decor. Must be popular too as it was very busy! Definitely better suited to younger people with the loud music playing in the background so we liked it. All main courses are a fiver and everything... More

Candy Bar is a nice place to eat and drink at any occasion. The place offers a nice and cozy atmosphere during the day, however can be too crowded and busy in the evenings.

Dropped in here today for a quick lunch. We were served water with or lunch but the bottle looked like it had something in it. It was probably just lemon skin but straight away it was removed and replaced with fresh glasses too. The food was fantastic value for the amount you pay in relation to the amount and quality... We stopped here for lunch as we had a voucher for 3 bar snacks and cocktails each. Its on George Street and down some steps so you may miss it if on other side of the street. The place was great fun, good servers, good food and drinks

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
