We arrived with no booking tonight (Fri) about 6pm but they managed to get us a table with a two hour transit target. Service was very friendly and efficient. We ordered from the early evening menu. Food was served quickly, the portions were more than generous and we had no room for pud! Good price and will definitely go back.

We went as a table of 7 on good Friday evening , and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes the gents toilet had an unpleasant smell, but they know it's an issue and are acting in it, and they are miles away from the eating area. Service was quick and attentive, and the food was lovely. We'll definitely be back

I was looking for a quick lunch before hopping on the tram back to the airport and Amarone reared into my sight. All I have to say is this. Pizza Frutti di Mare, a glass of Zinfandel rosé, water, espresso...fantastic!! The service was really friendly and the Italians on the next table were in seventh heaven. High praise indeed. I'll... Looked forward to visiting again as has a good vibe/atmosphere, food this time though not great.....pate was stone cold, like chill your teeth cold must have been taken straight from the fridge...and sone of the mussels on my partners plate still had beards attached....I had the breaded veal which was. Era disappointing, far to small a portion of pasta alongside... More

Had a lovely family dinner in Amarone. Was busy when we were in but were lucky to be fitted it (so long as they had the table back by 7.30). Most of our party had the set menu which was good value. Great cocktails. Will definitely return for more.

The restaurant was lovely and the service was ok but the food was foul. I had a carbonara with chorizo which was tasted awful and appeared to be sitting in a small pool of water. My son's pizza had too much cheese on it and he said it was not nice.

Arrived at 6pm on a Thursday evening. Nice buzz about the restaurant with half the tables taken. Service was efficient and the staff friendly enough without being too chatty. Chose a main course and dessert from the Early Evening Menu. Both courses were delicious although just a little too much for my appetite. By the time we were leaving a... More

I have eaten in two of these now and they are consistent, if not very inventive. The quality is good, service quick and prices reasonable. You will be able to name almost every dish on the menu, but if you want predictable and good quality it's fine.

Having stumbled across this restaurant we were amazed at the quality and flavours. From the focaccia bread to the pizza to the pasta all really good tasty food. Wonderful seething and meal.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
