A group of 11 for a 50th birthday celebration, the table was reserved as requested, the service was good and the food was nice. It all arrived in a timely manner, together and hot but the portion sizes seemed smaller than on previous visits. All in all a good location for what we were looking for and would reccommend for... After spending years in the Middle East enjoying the local food I was delighted to find that I could partake of some of my favourite dishes at this restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh

A quiet Tuesday lunchtime, the four of us were warmly greeted and given a window table. Our bottle of wine was immediately opened (BYOB) followed by a large jug of water. The lunch menu left us spoiled for choice so we each chose three dishes and shared them. We had far far too much food and the waiter was laughing... More

We went here on a whim and I have to say the food was very nice and the serve was excellent. Reasonable prices and we left we the inevitable food coma on the horizon. It feels like home cooking, so do not go here expecting fine dining. Its BYOB so make sure you take a bottle....or two. Overall a nice... More

I visited this restaurant for the first time recently. My son had eaten there previously. We opted for the mezze for four people. The food was fantastic. Plenty of choice of dishes and excellent flavours. It was also very reasonable at £73. The staff also brought extra naan bread free of charge. It was good to be able to take... More

Really tasty food, I will definitely go back! Portions are quite filling, also juices are tasty and freshly squeezed.

We live in Stirling and we were looking for some nice Lebanese food and Beirut didn't disappoint us. The Mansaf was second to none, the starters reminded us of Beirut and the dessert were delicious. Thank you guys

Sharon and I had fancied trying Lebanese food after I enjoyed some in London. I found Beirut quite by chance one day and decided to give it a go.... so glad we did! We had an early dinner and went for the set meal for two. We brought our own wine along too. Presented with about 7 plates of food,... More

I had high hopes for a tasty meal but was left very unimpressed. The starters were bland and cold, the entree completely burnt when it was supposed to be grilled. The service was lacking and I really think they put energy into some of the customers they knew personally but didn't for visitors. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
