On a visit to Edinburgh and being unprepared for the walk up from Waverley, the Albanach was a great place for our first taste of the city. Great food to eat and a very reasonably priced breakfast! They’ve made me fall in love with haggis...More

We stumbled across The Albanach by reaching the Royal Mile after we got off the train. We had some great food (2 of the sandwiches) and a nice relaxing pint. We came here for breakfast before our train home and that’s was amazing too (haggis...More

Excellent food... I had the Salmon Tika and my partner opted for the haddock fish cakes. Both meals were beyond our expectations. We finished by sharing a cheesecake dessert and some latte coffees... Great atmosphere amongst some very friendly folk..

Ended up going back here several times. Staff is fantastic: friendly, accomodating, always smiling. I went the first time on a Sunday dying for a Bloody Mary, and the bartender made me one that was fricking amazing; so much so that I had two! I...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
