Cosy place, authentic tasty dishes and reasonable prices. Like to visit regularly. The Roti Cenai, Satay, Mee Goreng and homemade iced lemon tea are favourites of mine.

Pre theatre visit so wanted reasonably fast service. Wasn’t disappointed. But even though service was fast the food was really good. Salt and pepper chicken wings were well cooked and really delicious. The randang beef with rice was delicious. Properly hot but a great flavour....More

Not been here for a while and apparently it's only just reopened following a refit. Much nicer inside than it was. Had the Kapitan ribs and the Laksa. Everything was perfect, good service, ice cold beer and quality spicy food. Not sure what the poor...More

I ordered a fish curry, anticipating nice white chunks of fish. What I got was a lot of honey carcass from a creature of the deep. I couldn’t eat a single bit of it. The curry sauce and rice were fine.

The decor is hideous upstairs with blazing lights and plastic cutlery. Downstairs en route to the toilet it appears to be dirty as well as drab. Having read rave reviews for the flatbread and curry sauce starter we ordered this, the best part of the...More

This was one of the truly awful dining experience. The premise were drab and reflect the food which cold and the service slow. I suppose it was our fault as it looked poor from the outside and we should have trusted our intuition and not...More

I took a friend who had never had Malaysian food, excited to introduce him to new flavors. It was such a disappointment. The food was mostly inedible glop. The menus have photos of dishes in them, and when we pointed to one that looked particularly...More

Had been to the Kampong Ali in Fountainbridge which alas is no longer there so a group of us decided to book a table at the sister (and original I believe) on Clerk st. I would describe this eatery as a Malaysian Cafe as it...More

This is a no-frills little restaurant; you could be eating in a cafe in Malaysia. Aromas of the orient fill the air. People come here for one reason only - to eat delicious authentic Malaysian cuisine. We had lunch here and the clientele consisted mainly...More

Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around
university buildings in Southside, the sort of

second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for
just a few pounds. In August the student population is
replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here
for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and
arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking
