I ordered Vegetable Panir Jhalfrezie (Traditional panir with steamed vegetable spiced with fresh green chilli, coriander and root ginger - description in the menu!). What I received? Potatoes and onion in tomato gravy with 5 pieces of paneer????? Second curry was Vegetable Rogun Josh - exactly the same ingredients, less spicy, no paneer. Both taste the same. Sorry guys, maybe... Promptly delivered. Genourous portions and very good curries. You could taste the fresh herbs and spices they had used. I'm a bit of a curry obsessive. This is good a carry out as I've had in Edinburgh.

Am I reviewing the same restaurant as some others?? This is the second time we ordered from them and again the meal was great. The lamb tikka was brilliant and not dry (despite what other reviewers said), the basmati rice perfect, the pashwari nan was perfect, and not oversweet unlike other takeaways. Even the delivery man refused a tip. I... More

I don't actually like ordering Indian food I always think you get much better quality by sitting in a restaurant but we were starving and thought we'd try this out. It was delivered within 10 mins of ordering, a good thing? Not really! I'd rather wait the standard 45 mins to know I'm getting quality cooked food. My order was... More

We ordered from here because our regular place was closed. The food turned up like someone had sat on it (see pics) the sauce was all through the bag and each box was completely squashed, it was cold and inedible. I rang back immediately to let them know, and a very stressed sounding chap asked if we wanted more food,... More

Ordered a take away from here, got a korma, a naan and chicken pakora. Naan was nice, korma wasn't like a korma and half way through my pakora I found a long black hair in my mouth attatched to pakora. I'm blonde and my partner is bald. Was going from us anyway as it was actually in the pakora. If... More

Lastnight we called for a delivery from Shapla and my goodness were we disappointed. After waiting almost 50 minutes to get a takeaway locally on a Monday night, it was the wrong order. We asked for chicken and got lamb. Now, some of you might think, "lamb aint too bad", but when you cannot eat lamb and you spend a... More

I have lived in the areafor 6 years. Shapla has generally been a solid takeaway, although service can be a bit cold sometimes. Tonight's post-work biryani was shameful. Rice that tasted stale; small pieces of dry chicken tikka; veg curry where only one piece of carrot was identifiable, and swimming with oil. I can honestly say I will not be... More

I am a longtime regular customer. The menu is varied and interesting, and unlike some takeaways it's not all about heat. The spices and flavours are rich, and you can tell all the herbs and veg are fresh.

They offer an excellent range of exotic foods. Tasty curried chikens and breads. Delivery is reasonable as are the prices.
