Stopped by this place between meal times, around 3. Though we were thinking he only ones in the restaurant, the staff was super nice. Try the fried sea bass or masa man curry both were fabulous!

Ate here on Saturday night it was surprisingly quiet. The restaurant is small and quaint. The coconut rice is delicious, both chicken main courses were tasty.

Nice enough food and good service. I was the only person in there on a Thursday evening. I had beef gaeng dang which was listed as a ‘spicy’ sauce but not actually not that spicy. For the price and location it’s perfectly good.

I went to this restaurant for my birthday on the 5th of September and I am soooooooooooooo happy my husband chose this place. I really wanted Thai food this year and as much as I was recommended Chopraya by friends I wanted somewhere more cosy...More

The mixed starters- fish cakes, spring rolls, chicken satay kebabs and prawn cakes were very good. The last two were amazing in fact. Lots of satay sauce and the chicken and prawn cakes were a generous size. We shared mains of monkfish fried in batter...More

Have eaten here a few times recently. The staff are excellent representatives of Thailand with pleasant gracious manner. The food is very well cooked and a good choice of menu. Lunch menu is moderately priced and a la carte menu reasonable. They are very receptive...More

We have had the good fortune to be in Edinburgh about every other year for some time now, and the Spirit of Thai is a place we almost always frequent because of the excellent, authentic Thai food that is served. Over time, whether with friends...More

First experience in this restaurant tonight after a movie at The Filmhouse. I was impressed with the menu - all dishes look to be authentic Thai recipes. I had a spicy seafood dish: peppers (hot & mild), mushrooms, prawns, scallops and squid. Just-right spicy, and...More

but nothing exceptional. We asked for a high spice level in our food but it didn’t seem to get conveyed to the kitchen. Food was average.

Went to this restaurant before and liked the food but unfortunately this time it wasn’t the case. The mushroom soup I ordered had an indication on the menu that it’s spicy. There was not even a hint of heat in that soup and the sweetness...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
